Take it from me- use a hair mask ...
Some very imaportant things to know... they suggest in the “tips” to put a mask on the remaining hair- DO IT! They also say the color may take in porous hair- YES IT DOES! (I found out my hair must have high porosity)The gray root coverage hardly worked. I am so frustrated. I left the color on my roots for 20 mins longer than in the directions & I still see grays! Leave on double time or longer & apply heat as suggested.Unfortunately, I thought I do an “alternative” look since I’m growing out my natural hair color. I had very long red hair (dyed but looked natural) and I had grown my roots out about 3 inches. So my idea was to cover the roots and bring down a few strips of brown into the red. Sort of like a balayage. By the time I brought the color down into the length, I realized it was going to be too difficult to apply the hair mask (you have to provide your own) so I skipped it. That was a big mistake! When I washed the brown dye out, the rest of my red hair as well became brown. The hair I did not apply the dye to had better coverage than my grays. And to top it off it’s not a pretty brown. The results- I have a putrid brown color that won’t wash out of the length and with every wash my grays are coming out more. The brown lightens in the length somewhat too but I don’t think I’ll ever get the red back. It’s been 6 washings & it’s gone from a dark brown/black to a lighter dark brown. If you learned anything from me- put a hair mask on your length and keep on the grays longer than called for in the directions! It is a very dark color on previously dyed hair but not as dark on my natural hair. Good luck!

Love It - Covered My Grays 100 Percent!
I have very long hair that is 50% gray. This product was excellent at covering my grays. I only used half the bottle. I was doing this in my kitchen and had forgotten my shampoo upstairs so I used my 7th Generation Lavender scented dish soap to wash my hair first. Maybe it helped to strip out any residue from other shampoo. Anyway my grays were covered completely. I like the fact that this product is 92% natural ingredients. It has a light fragrance but not offensive at all. I can’t comment yet on how long it lasts but I’m very happy with it and will definitely be ordering more. Thank you Christophe Robin for this excellent product!!

Don't belive the hype
Absolutely the WORST product. Did not cover any grey but changed my hair to green that wasn't grey when I rinsed out. Cost me 200 to fix my hair afterwards.

Turned my existing highlights green
I only applied this product to my roots, and left it on as instructed. When I washed out the color, the product turned my existing highlights green. I had to get my hair professionally colored to cover up the green color this product created.

High Hopes
I was pretty excited to find something that wouldn't harm my hair for my in between color appointments, unfortunately Christophe Robin Temporary Color Gel let me down. First off the color choices, dark chestnut is very dark and light chestnut is too light for most brunettes but I went with darker thinking it would cover the gray better. It seemed to cling to my hair that wasn't gray pretty good but didn't do anything to cover the gray at my roots so now there's even more of a distinction that its time to color my hair because it made my not so dark brown hair darker. Plus wetting hair first, applying and then waiting 40 minutes to have it not cover the grays...very disappointing.

Works better than I expected but lasts few shampoo only
I have short and thick dark brown hairs and about 10-20% grays focusing on the front. After the patch test, I used the product following the instruction. After 40-50 min, I rinse very carefully. In my case, this product covers about 50-60% of grays, and some of them look like very dark gray, not black. Fine for me, and it covers grays better than I expected actually. I feel that my hairs get dry a bit, but not seriously. The color seems to be pretty dark, almost black, but fine for me. I observe more grays (in almost white or very light gray color) after 3rd shampoo, so need to use my usual touch-up product a little to cover grays. After 5th shampoo, I can see more grays. The color remains longer than 5 days, but gradually disappears from 3rd shampoo. In my case it takes about 1.5-2 hours from the preparation and clean up, so I do not want to repeat this every week. I use this product twice (1 bottle) and I guess I the amount is enough for me to use it 3 and half times coloring. Here's my opinion. I may use this product if I need to cover my grays longer than 2 weeks but less than 4 weeks between salon appointments. I think it would be better for me to use my touch-up product for shorter than 2 weeks period and use usual color product for longer than 4-5 weeks period. However, if you have long and lots of grays to cover, this product still can be more useful than touch-up products. Smells fine for me (very minor) and easy to apply.

Great color but doesn't last
I have tried many products including his temporary glaze. Unlike others, I love the color. It is natural looking and fades naturally not blue or green like others I've used. I have two complaints or it'd be the perfect product. One is it fades too fast. The second is it does not cover grays, barely if at all. I don't have much so it's not a big deal. I like it because it tones down the brasiness of my hair and is a dark brown, not black. If he could improve this product in those ways it would be amazing!

It takes a little fiddling to get the best from this product, but it can be made to work very well.
I chose this Christophe Robin product because I knew I wanted a temporary hair color. (Of the three kinds of hair color--temporary, semipermanent, and permanent-- temporary is the least harmful to the hair.) It took a little fiddling, but I have found ways to make the Temporary Color Gel work really well for me. 1) The color accumulates, so although after the first shampoo, much of the color disappeared (contrary to the company's claim of it lasting through several washings), the color builds up after time. By the third application almost my whole head retained color even after shampooing. 2) I found my shoulder length hair seemed to lose body after using this product, so I now use a mousse volumizer after I apply it. Very successful. 3) Be sure to follow the company's advice about using a silicone free shampoo before applying the gel..
