USB Recognized by OS but Keyboard & Mouse does not work!
I purchased the first of two of these units to extend a VGA, Mouse & Keyboard to about 50' away. After receiving the unit, I was impressed by how small it was and how well it was built. I wired everything according to the included instructions on an older WindowsXP machine. Windows recognized immediately as USB controller and HID device and prompted me to install the Windows default drivers. After several rounds of installation (there are several devices that require drivers within the unit). Once installed, I made some minor adjustments to the onboard Contrast and Brightness controls till I dialed in a decent remote monitor image. I then plugged in a Logitec USB mouse, and WindowsXP made the familiar "Blick-Up" sound signifying that it recognized that a device was plugged in. As I went to move the remote mouse, nothing happened! I checked the USB-B cable that is included with the unit, to be sure it was plugged in correctly and it was. This should have been obvious since WindowsXP did recognize that I did plug in a mouse. I tried un-plugging and re-plugging all of the connections, still no USB. I tried 3 different Cat5 cables with factory molded ends, still nothing. I did notice that rolling the mouse would cause minor interference in the image quality while the mouse was moving but still would not control the mouse pointer. On to the second unit. After having the USB issue with unit #1, I decided to purchase another unit (I like the form factor) thinking if the 2nd unit works, I can send the first unit back and chalk it up to a manufacturing defect. Again, I wired in the second unit according to there instruction and still no Mouse!!!. At the same time I ordered a second of these units, I went ahead and ordered a different model from a different manufacturer. After I realized that the second unit was not going to work either, I went ahead and installed the 3rd unit from a different manufacturer (TESmart). Whala!!! The TESmart unit worked flawlessly the first time!!! I re-packaged both of the SGEYR units to be returned as "Defective".P.S. I did attempt to contact SGEYR support, they did respond initially via email, asked me for information that was already included in my initial email to them, I sent them the information again and never heard back from them.Hope this helps...

Delighted by unexpected features
Handsome, solidly built, simple-to-use pair of devices with a couple of nice little "extras" -- the "vga out" port on the transmitter lets you concurrently have a local kvm, as well as the remote kvm connected to the receiver. Nice! I was delighted by this unadvertised feature. We used this at a store where the surveillance system was originally set up in a back room. It enabled us to add a monitor and mouse at the sales counter, 60 feet away, so that clerks can keep an eye on the store's large outdoor yard as customers pick up their merchandise. After pulling a single cat-5 cable, we got it set up and working flawlessly in no time.Another nice surprise: the USB port on the receiver carries power, so we were able to plug in a dongle and use a wireless mouse and keyboard.Excellent product all around, at a very fair price!

Just what we needed!
The extenders worked perfectly. Took 5 minutes to set up. Used over 50 yards of CAT5 and the signage was crystal clear. Thanks!
