3B Scientific U15100 Demonstration Monochord

Quality of construction is good. It's solid and well made. My unit did not come with all three strings strung, however, and I feel like the box was missing the weight that hangs from the middle string over the pulley. There are no diagrams or instructions for usage. The instruction page is not super user friendly if you don't already know what you're doing with this unit. It gives you some background on the monochord, but not really any assembly hints or wave representations.

I use this monochord in my classroom to demonstrate Pythagorean music philosophy and ratios/intervals. It works very well, and the bridges are easy to change, yet stable when in place. My students love it, and I can't imagine teaching the Greeks without it!

I bought this to do demonstrations in a college course on Math and Music. It does the job adequately. It's smaller than other models I've used, which means it's easier to carry around campus, but at the same time the resonance chamber is smaller and the sound is correspondingly muted. It arrives pre-strung and ready to go.
