It's a pen nib. Of all the many note-taking/art-capable laptops I've owned, I've never had a stylus tip actually *break* on me, but I found myself having to get a replacement tip for the S-Pen. This was a perfect fit. These tips come with a removal tool I didn't bother using since I had not trimmed my nails yet. does seem like a handy aid though so I'll keep it. They seem to be made of a harder material than whatever the stock tip is made from, this affects how the pen feels to use but not by too much. I don't think it'll scratch the monitor/glass. Honestly well worth the few bucks I paid for it.

My tip had gone bad on my original S pen and thought I needed a new pen. Instead, I ordered these new nubs. I have a Galaxy Tab S3, model # SM-T820. This nub looked skinnier than the nub I was replacing, but it could be my eyesight. Either way, I pulled out the old, worn nub, shoved this one into my pen, and I'm back in business. I might order a few more just to have backups! I didn't need the supplied tweezers. Also, the entire package is remarkably small!

These are nothing like the oem stylus tips that come with the phone from the factory. They only last me a few weeks before the finish wears off and I can feel that they no longer glide across the sceeen.
