Hi, thanks for your question and it’s definitely not a silly one! The Phono Box S2 would be an ideal partner to a Pro-Ject Debut Evo. Just connect it to a line level input on your amplifier or active speakers. Yes - it is a phono pre-amplifier for both magnetic and moving coil turntable cartridges. With adjustment of small switches underneath the unit for the type of cartridge fitted to your turntable the signal level fed into an amplifier will be the same as any other auxiliary unit like a CD player.
