First Read
I just did a first read through this. For someone who suffers with health anxiety I found the book educational and informative. I think it had some really good activities and practices that seem worth trying. I’m going to now go back through the book and start working through all the exercises to see how much they may or at not help.

Big help with anxious thoughts
This book presents a step by step approach to managing anxious thoughts about health. It has useful examples and a series of homework assignments that, if completed, require the reader to confront the causes and consequences of health anxiety in her or his own life. It's not the most touchy-feely book out there. Instead, it presents a serious, research-based approach that asks the reader to put in effort in tracking thoughts and behaviors and practicing adaptive responses to anxiety. It can go a long way toward managing anxious thoughts and behaviors for people with mild to somewhat serious health anxiety. It has worked well for me.

Decent starting text, but not for those with complex challenges.
I liked the way the basics were explained in the text, but I found the book didn't go far enough. Interventions were generic and more complex cases who are not great candidates for simple CBT will not find this terribly helpful. Many others will....

Great resource
Really good overview, helped me a lot in facing my anxiety, it made me realize frightening sensations weren't dangerous at all

A very common illness
An excellent read for the average person suffering from any form of anxiety. It is interesting and informative and helpful for anyone with questions concerning this illness.

HIGHLY recommend.
This book helped me immensely while going to CBT about health-related anxiety. It not only gets to the root of the cause, but explains a lot about why we think the way we do and the cycles we get trapped in. It also teaches us how to overcome those cycles. HIGHLY recommend.

a beginners guide to anxiety
This is a good guide for those seeking relief from anxiety for the first time. It contains all the info you need to begin treating your anxiety. It's not overly long or unnecessarily technical, and contains all the basic resources you might need to overcome panic disorder.
