Does exactly what I expected
This adapter is great. It allows me to connect my smaller portable generator to the inlet plug on my house that feeds our transfer switch. It connects the single hot leg of my generator to both hot legs of the power inlet box/transfer switch. The adapter is very heavy and feels very solid. The price seemed a little expensive, but I suppose the quality was worth it - especially for making it super easy to plug in our generator during power outages now.

Perfect for powering your house with a 120v generator
I recently purchased a 120v generator at a price that was too good to pass up, and installed a standard 30-amp power inlet and interlock kit on our house breaker panel. I wanted all of the hard-wired work to be 240v-capable, in case I choose to upgrade to a larger generator in the future. This cable was exactly what I needed - I purchased a standard L14-30r cable and inlet, and used this adapter between the cable and the generator. All 120v circuits work perfectly. Make sure to leave all 240v breakers switched off, and don't use shared neutral circuits if you have any (I was able to verify that our house does not).

Inexpensive way to get a twist-lock output from a MEP generator
I cut this in half and connected the 4-prong plug to one phase of my MEP-802 generator, in order to feed my house's transfer switch. Just make sure you hook things up correctly, otherwise you can get bizarre results at best (fortunately, MEP generators are quite robust and had no problem putting up with my mistakes).

Generator adapter L5-30 P Great way to connect 110V generator to transfer switch.
I recently installed connected a six circuit generator transfer switch to my neighbor’s electrical panel. The transfer switch is designed for 220V; therefore its internal wiring and supplied generator cable are four conductor. My neighbor’s generator is 110V so it accordingly has three prong plug. The generator adapter L5-30 P is the ideal solution it has safe, waterproof molded cable and connectors plus it shunts the ground and neutral on the four prong side. This allows to run 110V appliances on both sides of the electrical panel. If in the future a 220V generator were installed you only need to disconnect the Generator adapter L5-30 P.

Works with Reliance through the wall unit.
I have a Champion generator 120 V only and this product was able to modify the three plug on the generator to the 4 prong plug on the through the wall Reliance unit providing power to all 6 receptacles.

Great added item for your Generator
Not all the chords come with a 4 to 3 prong adapter . This works great and comes in handy . Using it as I write this review due to a fire safety power outage . Good stuff

Power adapter
If I were to go to Lowe’s buy the parts and build this myself it would have cost twice what I paid for it it works perfectly.
