Perfect to vent our large chicken coop
We have a 20x30 chicken coop that is 20' tall at the peak, constructed with insulated wall sheets and a metal roof. It's great except in the winter when the humidity rises, condenses on the cold metal roof and then "rains" back into the coop. We bought this product in hope of fixing that problem. The Whirlybird was relatively easy to install even on our steeply sloped, corrugated metal roof (granted, the hubby was a steel building contractor for 30+ years, but he didn't think it was difficult), the instructions were clear, and all the parts were present and in good condition. It hasn't stopped spinning since we installed, even on relatively calm days. We haven't had any rain or snow leakage and there's been zero "rain" on the inside of the building due to humidity and condensation. I thought it would make the interior of the coop colder, but the inside temp has stayed 20+ degrees higher than the outside temp. During the subzero cold spell we had a couple weeks ago, we kept the door to the run shut and it was warm enough inside that the unheated water bowl wasn't frozen solid. If it works this well in the winter, I can't wait to see how it does this summer - I predict our coop will be much cooler and have less dust with this vent in place. This was an absolute win and I'm glad we made the investment. I've already recommended numerous times to others in the poultry groups I'm part of.

Keeps my shed well ventilated, dry and the temperature at a reasonable level in the summer heat.
Keeps my shed well ventilated, dry and the temperature at a reasonable level in the summer heat.. Build quality is top notch. As a matter of fact I dropped it off of an 8 foot roof and was able to bend it back into shape. You would never be able to tell it was dropped. It's silent and was easy to install. The difference between this model and the one you can find in the box stores is the ball bearings installed in the shaft and the quality of the aluminum.Go for the "original" and forget the Chinese knock offs. Made in Arkansas.

Excellent ventilation solution
The media could not be loaded. I installed one whirlybird turbine on my detached, south facing two-car garage. Before this, the garage, with no ventilation at all, would reach between 115 to 120 degrees on a 95 degree day. This was unbearable to say the least. With no ventilation, the garage attic area was basically a heat dome, that could only dissipate once the roof cooled late at night and allowed the heat to transfer. I wanted a no electricity solution and remembered these types of roof vents on my childhood home 30 years ago.Installation was straightforward and there are numerous you tube videos on how to install. I would suggest purchasing roof jacks if you will be self installing. They are $10 a piece and can be found in the builder supply section of any major home improvement store. These were imperative on my 45-degree pitched roof.Post-installation, the garage is only 3-5 warmer than the outside ambient temperature, which is excellent in my opinion.

Working well
This works very well for venting my house. Two Whirlybirds is the right amount for my 900 square foot house. One came with the bottom flashing bent, but it was easy to flatten it back out. I live in snow country, so after a deep snowfall I'll scoop the snow away from them, otherwise they won't turn freely, but that's not a big deal for me. I might put on an extension pipe sometime in the future. My neighbors also have whirlybirds of other manufacturers, and mine seem to turn at about the same speed as theirs. As an aside, I opened up my soffit vents well and plugged my gable vents, so the air is drawn through my attic in the most efficient way.

Very useful, and the color enhances the house's look
Our handyman recommended that we put whirlybirds on our roof to cool off the crawl space (and ultimately the house). He suggested we order them from Home Depot, but I'm lazy so I checked on Amazon and here they are. It took a little over a week to get them, then a couple of hours for him to install all four. The finish appears to be enamel, so I expect ithem to last a long time. They have cooled the house significantly this summer--at least twenty degrees on warm days. It took about a week to work to their fullest potential. Highly recommend.

Amazon fulfilment needs to learn basic packaging
Ok, I purchased two of these. The first was sent directly from what looks like a Lomanco distributor out of Kingman AZ. It was packaged beautifully with the manufacturer box placed inside a shipping box. Perfect, works great, easy install. The second one was sent by Amazon fulfillment...and it was sent only in its manufacturer box. Very flimsy! The unit was beat up. I spent at least an hour trying to bend a tweak parts to get it to work. I did install it but it doesn't work smoothly. I really should have just returned it. Shame on Amazon! They should know better. As such, my experience shows that it is a flip of a coin on how well it will be packaged. As a result, I give the first unit and the distributor a 5. The second one shipped by Amazon, a 1. Split the difference and it's a 3.Update. The first one I ordered that was packaged perfectly was from Nafstore. I just ordered a third one from them. 5 stars for Nafstore.

Great product
This whirlybird was a lifesaver for our attic - it was insanely hot, so i climbed the roof and installed it (i wasn't willing to pay 400 bucks to a roofer for an hour of work). If you are handy, you can do it. Just watch instructional videos. Anyway, very quiet (read: silent) and efficient...definitely cooled down our attic and takes no power.
