Cerámica: Mexican Pottery of the 20th Century

This book included hundreds of images from a wide variety of Ceramic history in Mexico. I purchased this book as a Ceramics Award book for a high school award recipient whose maternal heritage is of Mexico. She was thrilled with it!

This book has extremely clear pictures & brief descriptions of the pieces, but no history of the artist, description if the process or history of the region. The pictures are 2 or 3 pieces of similar works from one view. Consider this an introduction to modern Mexican pottery. If you're looking to identify your favorite piece, there's perhaps a 30-40% chance you'll find a similar piece here here based on the # of pieces photographed. I bought a used copy for $18 & it was worth the price, but I would not pay a $40+ price for a new copy.

Good overview

Ceramica: Mexican Pottery of the 20th Century is an excellent resourse book and will be a great addition for your library of Mexican art books. It gives a wonderful glimpse, through pictures, of regional Mexican pottery with informative text.

great book full of wonderful photos and pretty good descriptions and history

This is a superbly researched, photographed and printed book assembling many impressive examples of Mexican folk art. While it is by no means an exhaustive survey, those areas on which it focuses are well explored and showcased.

excellent book, a really comprehensive over-view. I have been collecting this type of pottery for years and never really knew its history, etc. Do now!!
