The Mission of Art: 20th Anniversary Edition

Gifted this to my boyfriend who loves the band tool. Alex Grey does their artwork and this book specifically displays that artwork along with other. I haven’t really looked through it all but at a glance it was impressive. Also would make a great coffee table book for guests to flip through. Larger than expected and can’t beat the price.

I am not qualified nor articulate enough to review this book properly. I will simply say…this book is holy scripture for spiritual art. It is a sacred text to be reflected on, referenced and revered. I have tremendous gratitude and admiration for Alex Grey.

Alex Grey is the best

I discovered this years ago and have gifted it to many. Interesting, Inspiring and great to help break through blockages.

I bought this for a school assignment and it ended up changing my life. My viewpoints of art and life in general have been transformed. This is a worthwhile read for anyone who is interested in how art impacts all of life throughout all of time. Thank you Alex Grey for being so insightful and inspiring!

This is not an instruction manual on how to make art, this is an enlightening book on the sacred nature of art. It's perfect for those looking to find that "inner something" within themselves and then express it within their art. Great stuff.

At first when I first got the book, I was concerned the autograph was not authentic but when it arrived and I saw it I just knew it was done by Alex Grey's hand. He has a very distinctive signature and I am quite familiar with it being a big fan and all. Also it had one of his CoSM doodling's above it! My gf was very happy come xmas morning Thanks again for the wonderful gift!

Auch dies ein schönes Buch von Alex Grey, allerdings hauptsächlich eine theoretische Abhandlung über den Auftrag der Kunst - wie der Titel besagt - und da hat der Autor natürlich seine sehr persönliche Meinung, eine von Millionen möglichen. Mir persönlich gefällt seine Ansicht, obwohl ich auf finde, sobald etwas auf Papier ist, hat es auch im Negativen Sinn etwas Missionarisches an sich - deshalb nur drei Sterne. Diese dann aber doch für die schöne Gestaltung und Illustration des Buches.

Feuilleté l'ouvrage, j'ai trouvé que seule la couverture était en couleurs, et non les dessins intérieurs, ce qui en gâche fortement l'intérêt ... sniff ...(édition broché, aucune idée pour sa version reliée)

So deep and inspiring, very well written, couldn’t put it down, one of the best books I read since Biology of belief by Bruce Lipton.
