Showtime's The L Word, concerning the relationships of a community of lesbian Los Angelenos, turned heads with its smart, funny writing and fully realized characters. Season Two offers more of the same, with some notable guest stars and experiments in narrative and music. This season, Jenny (Mia Kirshner) fully embraces her sexuality as her ex-husband/roomie (Eric Mabius) departs and voyeuristic documentary filmmaker Mark (Eric Lively) and womanchaser Shane (Katherine Moennig) move in. Shane and Jenny struggle good-heartedly over the affections of new character Carmen (Sarah Shahi), who isn't given much to do plot-wise apart from occasionally spinning records and serving as one corner of the love triangle. Bette (Jennifer Beals) and Tina (Laurel Holloman) start the season on the rocks due to Bette's infidelity; the introduction of the one-dimensionally nasty Helena Peabody (Rachel Shelley) causes further friction between Bette and Tina while playing havoc with Bette's curatorial career. Meanwhile, Dana (Erin Daniels) and Alice (Leisha Hailey) go from being best friends to being a whole lot more, providing some of the most touching scenes of the season. Kit (Pam Grier) takes on The Planet, the seeming center of LA's lesbian universe, converting it into a nightclub where, conveniently, guest-starring bands can play. Strong points of the season include Bette and Kit confronting the death of their father (the superb Ossie Davis) and Shane's new job as a gopher for a high-powered Hollywood producer (the equally superb Camryn Manheim). Less strong are the distracting, neo-expressionistic passages meant to be glimpses into Jenny's creative mind and the interminable use of the series' theme song--re-interpreted in a number of genres--to the point of distraction. Mark's voyeurism, which crosses all sorts of boundaries as he installs hidden cameras around the house, is a brilliant way to challenge male viewers who may tune in just to TiVo their way to the sex scenes. That said, the arc of that particular story grows increasingly far-fetched as Mark somehow avoids criminal prosecution and instead endures the horrible fate of having Jenny refuse his offer of coffee and a muffin. Despite its flaws, The L Word is a show that deserves to be cheered on, not for its politics, but for the skillful way it conveys complex human entanglements with sensitivity. --Ryan Boudinot Review: The Best Season Ever!! Lots of lesbians complain that it isn't really reflective of the lesbian community as a whole - in terms of the body beautiful femininity , but frankly I enjoy looking at this gorgeous cast . (sorry , not to PC I know) I would tell any collector that this is a must have addition to your home viewing experience.

The Best Season Ever!! (Besides Season 4)
This is absolutely the funniest, sexiest and most intriguing season of the L Word Series... Its the season when Sole Mates Alice n' Dana build a relationship, Carmen and Shane have sexy love affairs then finally discover they belong together, Bette n Tina divorce, then reconcile, then start their family with baby Angelica, Jenny faces her fears and begins to find her voice, Kit gets the greatest gift-a new beginning and the main reason why I love this season is because its the last few performances of Ossie Davis! Wow ... things that make u go hmm
Great series ! I have loved every moment watching it & at the end of each season ... waiting anxiously for the new seasons release . It is the complex friendships & interconnected web of lives spun masterfully together . It is such a treat to have a series with finally predominantly lesbian characters. Life, Love and Lust
Having watched the first season of The L Word, I must say that this second season definitely did not disappoint. It was a great follow up to the 1st season, with adequate character development, good storylines and just enough new faces. The stories may revolve around lesbian women, but the situations are true of any person living in today's world. On a personal note, I think Shane's character struck a chord with me because I too was a bit of a commitment-phobe. When I finally let myself be vulnerable, I realised what a wonderful thing love can be. PLus, she's hot!

showtime's critically acclaimed series
at the beginning of the year i started watching repeat episodes for season two of the l word. i never thought that i would get so hooked on the show, but i did. i saw the last six episodes and i couldn't wait for season three to start. but i realized that i wasn't up to speed, so i purchased season two the next day. i was so happy that i did. i watched all of season two in 3 days. i'm really thrilled that there is a show that isn't afraid to talk about women's issues. this show has touched me in a way that i never thought possible and it has also opened my eyes to certain topics that i could have cared less for. i gave this item 5 stars because it changed my whole perspective on life and the society that we live in just a matter of days. i'm sure that it could do the same to someone else.

Love this series
This series is very entertaining and well-shot. I like the variety of characters, the clothes are fun, and the music is great. I feel like I've been hanging out with interesting people when I watch this by myself. Great show for gay and straight alike. Loved it when Showtime first came out with it. (excuse the pun!)

Outstanding Series
I had heard about the L Word but had never seen an episode until I switched cable providers. After watching 3 or 4 episodes I realized that this is not just some show about Lesbians but was in fact a very well written & acted show about relationships (in this case obviously between lesbians). The show is very well done with drama, humor and suspense. I liked what I saw so much that I sent for the first five seasons and can't wait until the 6th season comes out from Amazon.

L for Lovely!
Season One was awesome and amazingly, Season Two was just as good (which is not an easy feat!) Bette showed us she was human, Al and Dana were hilarious and Shane and Carmen melted the screen whenever they were together...The only slightly annoying parts were anything related to Jenny's writing scenes and Tina (did she go crazy?). By the way, Erin Daniels, Leisha and Kate M seem like hilarious people - I loved their commentary on one of the episodes! So...when is season 3 coming out?

Verpackung und Versandt: Die Box kam zum angegebenen Zeitpunkt an. Sie war gut verpackt, sodass sie auf dem Weg nicht hätte beschädigt werden können. Als ich sie ausgepackt habe, konnte ich auch keine Macken finden. Zum Produkt: Die DVD-Box ist zwar etwas größer als die anderen DVD-Boxen, dennoch lässt sie sich super im Regal unterbringen. Die Serie ist super! Ich habe bei der ersten Staffel angefangen und hatte viel zu Lachen, Weinen und auch schmunzeln. Es ist alles drin, was man in einer Serie erwartet (gut, außer Fantasie, Si-Fi, etc.). Ich finde die Serie einfach klasse! Sie ist auch sehr emotional und man kann die Handlungen der Protagonisten oft gut nachvollziehen. Man lernt die einzelnen Charaktere gut kennen und weiß teilweise schon vorher, wie sie auf gewisse Dinge reagieren werden.
