iPad Air 2 case, Red Leatherette Case Cover for Apple iPad Air 2 Cases (2014 Release)

I wanted to get the Apple Smart Case but didn't want to pay $70 for it, so I looked around for what was the closest alternative and found this. What a great purchase! This thing is thin enough to not add much thickness, light enough to not add much weight, yet thick and strong enough to really protect your iPad mini. This thing is very well made. Fits like a glove and comes in many different colors. It also has the smart feature which makes the iPad turn on when you open it which is very nice and helps to extend the life of the home button I would think. The inside of the cover is of a very soft light grey material (regardless of the color you choose) which I believe is made with that material in order to not scratch the screen which is nice. However, the light color of the material means it can and does get a little dirty. This would be my only criticism, definitely not enough to subtract a star though. The way I deal with it is as soon as I see a little bit of dirt I wipe it down with a moist paper towel and let it dry; this so the dirt never accumulates. This method has worked perfectly for me so far. I would definitely recommend this cover. I later went to a few stores in person to check out other cases because I wanted to make sure I got the best one. I must have evaluated 30 different cases and couldn't find another case better than this one. Only the Apple branded one is as nice as this one but you could buy 3 of these for the price that you would have to pay for that one. Makes it a no-brainer for me.

To me this is the perfect case... while it lasts. Which for me was about 7 months.It operates like a smart case from apple, wake on opening, the stand works perfectly, the fit on the ipad mini is great. Even the faux leather feels pretty good.Unfortunately after about 6 months the stitching started to come loose and at 7 months I had to get rid of it because the cover was falling off.I'm ordering another one as I honestly feel that ~$10 for 6+ months is a great deal compared to $50 for an apple case that would only last a year or so before it starts to show wear too.

This case is like the Smart Cover but with protection for the entire back of the ipad mini, and it costs half the price of a Smart Cover (including shipping)!The entire case is one piece, and it snaps easily onto the device. Unlike other cases that cover portions of the screen, the corners barely even touch the edge of the screen, leaving the entire screen (even the areas not responsive to touch) exposed when the front cover is opened. This makes it incredibly easy to clean the screen without collecting dust at the edge or corners like with some other cases.The magnets activate the sleep/wake function perfectly. The front cover also folds back behind the device with the magnets gripping on to the back cover, allowing viewing in "magazine mode." The case is so unobtrusive in this mode that you sometimes forget the ipad has a case. The front cover also folds to allow stand-up landscape viewing.Finally, the color (mine is navy blue) is dark and stylish, and the polyurethane faux leather is high-quality. In terms of protection, the case is great for day-to-day use, especially since it protects the entire back of the device.

I have this exact same item for my iPad mini in pink. That one has held up BEAUTIFULLY after 3 YEARS of DAILY use all day in my classroom. I was eager to purchase one for my new iPad Air 2 that I just got as a replacement for the iPad mini. I am very disappointed in how much the quality of INVELLOP products has gone down. Right out of the box the backing was coming unglued and separated from the back of the cover on the inside part where the iPad touches it and the tripod shape that is made when you flip the cover to use as a stand doesn't magnetize to the iPad so it won't stand up properly. I am returning and will probably not purchase their products again.

I have a new iPad Air. I found 1) after I forced the iPad into this case and held it with rubber bands overnight, the case molded perfectly to fit. And 2) the opening for the volume control does not line up with my device. I now have a pretty much muted iPad unless I remove the case. That said, it seems to offer good protection, it is attractive, I love that it turns the device on and off with the opening and closing of the cover.

I was looking for a case that would protect my iPad mini, look good and not add much to the size of the device. This case fits all of those criteria. It holds the iPad securely, too. I've had it for about 4 weeks and have had no troubles with durability. It's even been to Europe and back in that time and travelled nicely in my carry-on. Navy blue color is really nice. The only thing is if you need a case that will protect your iPad mini from drops and rough use, you may want to consider a heftier case, like an Otterbox. This one is more for minimalists. It offers the right amount of protection for my needs, and the price is right.
