Jamstik 7 Bundle Edition

I saw a really good Instagram video blogger called brandondeonmusic demonstrate the Jamstik 7 and thought I'd like to give it a try, it looks fun and I've been wanting to learn. So I bought this as a complete beginner and am quite impressed with the performance and ability to play wirelessly into the teaching and arcade apps. I did have to use wired headphones, which they recommend strongly, but found the lessons were well laid out and the arcade options fun. I'd definitely recommend it for beginners, this is way more cost effective, flexible and portable than a course of lessons.

I bought this for a gift for my partner for Xmas, and I regretted it since Xmas day as I can’t get him off it!!! Within a week on using it and the online tutorials he can play chords and short choruses of songs!It’s a brilliant gift that gives more than just the materialistic side. It’s boosted his confidence in his ability and music is therapy within a household of 4 children!

Plays like a normal guitar, but packs away for easy transportation.

I had really high hopes for this as a midi controller to replace a midi keyboard, as I'm much better at playing the guitar. But I just could not get it to work. No ability to control velocity, some notes just didn't play and no ability to sustain a note beyond a fixed time period. Doesn't feel fully developed.

This device is temperamental. It should come with a hazard label. Sometimes it will allow you to play chords, sometimes it'll have a death wish and bait you into smashing it against the wall. It has a personality, it likes to be played with one or two fingers but don't try a third or it'll taunt you. Four fingers is just crazy talk.Update: Resetting the device makes a big difference, needs fully charged batteries.

Very good training and practicing tool. Useful with headphones so your neighborhoods/family don't have to listen to your learning curve 🙂. A bit expensive so make sure you are committed 🙂

Fantastic idea, love the fact it shows where your fingers need to be and where they are for learning.However, I am an Android and Windows user.... There are no Android apps currently and with Windows the only option is to use Chrome and the Jamstik website. That means you don't get the functionality that the apps give to iOS users on iPhone and iPad's. You also dont get any form of wireless capability, you must use USB for Windows machines.I found that whilst using Chrome, often the Jamstik would disconnect / reconnect and then Windows would throw an error with the usb port. I also noticed that it would often not accurately detect finger location, and also miss string plucking. Another problem I had was with strumming, missing strings and sometimes not keeping up.I spent quite a bit of time trying problem resolutions suggested on the Jamstik website and around the internet with no luck. Sadly, I have had to return the Jamstik.You may get a much better experience if you use Apple products, but if you use Android you are probably not going to enjoy. Maybe this will change in the future.

I have been learning very quickly with the Jamstik 7.  Fun to play with the different apps. Great product.
