Vans' storied history, and our connection with skate and surf culture, began in 1966 Southern California with the rolling out of a single pair of shoes. They were named Authentic. In the generations since, they have only gotten more popular amongst hardcore skaters and skate enthusiasts. Their design is simple, stylish, and effective: a low top lace-up profile made with sturdy canvas uppers, and signature waffle rubber soles.

Fabric upper is to small for the sole
I really love Vans so I treated myself to a new pair for a trip to Europe. In retrospect, I should have tried these on plenty of times before bringing on a trip, yes, but having worn other Vans straight out of the box very comfortably, I expected no problems. However - these shoes are very small! They do not fit like other unisex Vans, I bought my normal 7.5 and my toes go right to the end. It probably wouldn't have been that bad except the fabric part slopes in at the back! This makes the shoe fit more like a 6.5-7. The sole part is just about right, but I feel that the fabric upper is defective it is too small for the sole. I wish this were more comfortable and that I didn't already wear them out or I would exchange.

Dont buy
Less than 4 months , the sole was completely pulling out and I lost my money. Delievery was ok, but product was main probably fake, very poor quality. I do not reccomend.

From 5 Stars to 1 Star
I was very excited when I first got these authentic vans. They arrived early, looked pure white, and had the vans logo. Immediately I reviewed it with 5 stars, praising its authenticity... that is until I cleaned them. After I quick cycle, by itself, in my own personal, clean washing machine brown spots started appearing. Now I’m wondering if it was just painted white. I’ll attempt to hand wash it and see what happens otherwise I’m asking for a refund and will post the not-so-white Vans.

Unprofessional stitching job and disappointing
Just received the vans and they weren't as good and honestly I trusted Vans to take good care of the shoes and have them be top quality like the one's at the store. I received the white vans with a little bit of dirt on them, which wasn't a big deal. The big deal was the stitching on the outside and the cushion for your foot. The stitching on the outside was unprofessionally made and the cushion on the right shoe was very lose near the heel. Very dissatisfied and lost my trust with buying online

Better than a GriGi
So this is a secondary review after spending more time with the Lifeguard:After doing more lead climbing with the Lifeguard the performance has gotten much better. I have also been able to compare it more to a GriGri. Using a 9.9mm rope the operation is butter smooth and the feel for lowering is much better. I have gotten to master control of the rope in my brake hand and can hold it off to the side (like you would with a GriGri) and control braking while balancing the pull on the lowering handle. With larger gym ropes or larger lead ropes there is still a tendency to have too much friction which can lock up the cam when paying out slack quickly. However, with my 9.9 slack payout is great, and the cam still locks up very positively with a load on it and does not slip one bit and allows for easier braking when a climber needs a rest. More an more people in my gym are taking to it for its size, excellent construction, and easy use over a GriGri. I still don't think it deserves 5 stars because of its less than perfect performance with larger diameter ropes, but I'm happier with the Lifeguard than I was after using it the first few sessions. Give it some time and learn how to use it properly and it will pay off.Original Review:I really want to give this five stars but I can't because I keep going back to my ATC and this ends up sitting in my bag as a backup or for anyone that forgets a belay device.Pros:1. It's smaller and lighter than a GriGri2. Construction is very solid and the metal handle feels very sturdy.3. The cam lock-up is very tight and holds climbers very well and engages at just the right point. Slack can be payed out without it locking up but with adequate force or a fall it locks tight and does not slip.4: Cool factor. Everyone that sees it has to ask what it is and if they can use it.Cons:1. Lowering a climber takes very precise control of the handle. Because the handle is short to fit the footprint of the device it is difficult to grasp it with a full hand and control decent. Additionally lowering seems to be either too slow or too fast, finding the sweet spot is very difficult for me.2. When lowering, unlike a GriGri the rope has to be directly in front of the device for it to feed back into the device smoothly. If held off to the side it creates too much drag and there is no wear plate for the rope to glide over.Summary:Unfortunately I am going to stick with my tried and true ATC and this will be my backup belay device. An ATC I feel gives me greater control and feedback. I think the Lifeguard is well designed and would last many years of climbing and use. Perhaps I have not given it enough time after about a dozen climbing sessions of testing, and if that changes this review will be modified, but for now it is not my #1 belay device.

NOT correct sizing and 50% restocking fee!
VERY unsatisfied with my purchase. I own 3 other same style vans in different colors in the same size I purchased from this vendor and these vans are an entire size too big even though they are labels the same size as all my other vans! The fact that I cannot return them without a 50% restocking fee (half of what I paid for them) is absolutely ABSURD! Buy your vans somewhere else where you can at least return them for the right size!

154 grams, not 119
This is 154 grams, not 119 as stated in the description. The GriGri2 is listed as 170 grams, which measured accurately on my scale.Other than that, it works well, quite like a GriGri2. I am right handed, and when lowering, the rope automatically curls over the right side to provide extra friction. Like the GriGri2, it is biased for right side use.Feeding out rope for lead is definitely nicer. You don't have to awkwardly hold the device closed to prevent catching and short roping the climber. This was the primary reason for my purchase.Basically it's a GriGri2 with a modified shape and therefore slightly different braking characteristics. So far it works well and will update the review as I get more use.Slightly disappointed at the actual weight. Maybe they added a little extra material as compared to the prototype, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Nice, but could have better quality control
I just received this table, and quickly assembled it to verify it meets the need. First, it is very light, which is great. Second, the height is perfect for an end table, or a dining table when sitting on the ground. Finally, it looks classy. However, the top has little plastic separators that started to break immediately. The spacing between the slats is affects, but the table is still useable.Bottom line, it's a nice table.

Simple, comfortable pack--no bells and whistles
I've taken this on two long-distance hikes now, and I'm very fond of it. I just wanted something simple. My aesthetic is a plain-looking rucksack with nothing hanging on the outside, so I ignored the various attachment tapes and pulled off the criss-cross paracord. I found I could get a surprising amount of stuff in this pack. And there are extra zippable spaces on the top flap and at the bottom. There were two minor irritations with this rucksack. The side pockets are so ferociously tight at the top that it is a pain in the neck getting your water bottles, etc., in and out. I kept maps in the mesh pocket, and that has such strong velcro at the top that, again, getting the map in and out was hard work, (to be fair, I don't suppose it was designed for that). The best thing about this pack is that it's easy to carry--you don't even know it's there. Took me a few days to work out my best strap adjustments, but after that it was almost a pleasure swinging this pack onto my back. I also like that the colour is plain--you are not carrying someone's garish design fantasy on your back. OK, bright colours serve a safety purpose, but I like stealth camping and blending into the landscape with ease, and this piece of kit is just right for that.

great value
i initially purchased the same shoe from Schuh in a 6 , forgetting that you need to adjust the size for vans . schuh didn't have a replacement in the size i needed , and wouldn't have for another month ! so i ventured onto Amazon and found them there , the right size and even allowing for carriage , they were cheaper , prompt delivery , great fit great shoe , great value , all in all simply GREAT !

They look nice on as they are dainty and I don't like ...
They look nice on as they are dainty and I don't like the 'chunky' look of some of the pumps you can get, but I have to admit there is a reason for this: I find them a tad narrow. Admittedly I have quite wide feet and because I bought these online obviously I couldn't try them on.I could have sent them back but I figured they just needed breaking in. I have worn them a few more times since and they are loosening up a bit. I think if I had tried them on in a shop I may not have bought them??!!

Super cute shoes!
Super fun, really cute shoes. They've more height on them than most other Vans, which are typically quite flat, so a bit of a platform is a nice change. They're great for everyday wear if you want something comfortable but funky. The pattern is super bright and attractive, and they look great on.They are a little tight in the width initially, but loosen out with a bit of wear. I'd suggest stuffing them with newspaper for a day before wearing.A woman's size 6 usually fits me perfectly and the 6 was a perfect fit for me, too.

😍
Love, love, love these shoes! The only slight issue is have is that the print is like a paint print and will wear off eventually... I don't really want that to happen or know how long it will take... So I am not going to wear them all the time.Definitely worth owning though, especially as they are limited edition! ❤

Previously worn sweaty shoes. 2 left feet!
Got these for a Christmas present however opened to find they contained two left shoes!!! Also both previously worn, so obvious they are using returns to make up new pairs. Both had sweat stains on the souls and dirty bottoms. So poor, really surprised from Amazon.

Love the make but white aren’t great.
I love vans but would never buy white again.. have a £3 pair of trainers that have taken a hammering with dirt etc and wash fine. Wore these out once and stained! Sent to specialist cleaners and said they could not sort.Great fitting and great brand just going to stick to other colours in futureThe £3 shoes still going strong

Can't believe the price for these
Wasn't sure about ordering these as I thought they must be too good to be true. Excellent price compared to in the shops and they look like genuine vans.Came in a vans box and fit as expected, I am normally a 6 but wear 5.5 in vans as they come up big on me.Do not hesitate they are the real deal at an insane price.

Great shoes
I love vans, have owned a lot of pairs over the years, they only last about 12 months with semi regular wear but they are such great shoes, and for the price you can't really go wrong

Very good
Very good value for money - not sure if they are real vans but they defiantly feel like they are. I ordered my size shoe and when they came they were true to the size and as a result they fit perfectly! I always worry about ordering shoes online because of sizing but these were perfect. Thank you!

Nice, stylish casual shoe
These were bought for myself to replace previous pairs I have had. I am normally a size 5.5 or 6 but the 6 fit me perfectly. I do tend to put an insole in during the winter months as I find feet can became cold. Otherwise I love them and will continue to buy them as my casual shoe

Another great pair of Vans
I love Vans, and these are a lovely addition to my collection. (What a bargain too!) The comfort and practicality that I always associate with this brand is here in these shoes, and I'm sure they'll last for years as my other Vans have. The colour of this pair is somewhat closer to an orangey-red than the pink of the picture, but the colour is very nice. They can be worn as fashion trainers or for actually doing sport- though they're so pretty that you won't want to risk getting mud on them!

All Black Vans Plimsoles
Arrived not a moment ago. Ordered a size 6 and they fit as expected. Unable to really test them out on the streets of South London hopefully when we get some drier days they will be put under pressure. Currently wearing them around the home. Thank you ✊🏾
