Great and Fresh
McCormick Culinary Minced Onion is an absolute kitchen staple. The quality is excellent, and the flavor is surprisingly fresh and robust for a dried product. Once rehydrated, the onion flakes closely resemble freshly chopped onions and blend perfectly into recipes. The 17 oz container is a great value, especially if you cook frequently. I use it all the time in soups, sauces, meatballs, casseroles, and relishes, and it saves so much prep time without sacrificing taste. It distributes evenly and adds consistent onion flavor every time. I also love how versatile it is—perfect for dry rubs, marinades, and seasoning mixes, or simply adding directly to dishes while cooking. The packaging is sturdy and easy to store, keeping the flakes fresh for a long time. If you want convenience, consistency, and great onion flavor without the hassle of chopping, McCormick Culinary Minced Onion is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended for home cooks and professionals alike.

Delicious! Convenient. Easy to use.
I love McCormick Culinary Dehydrated Chef's Cut Onion. I keep an empty quart size spice jar and use this to refill it. The remainder goes into an airtight container with an oxygen absorber and it stays fresh. I add it to soups, stews, beans, slow cooker meals and other foods straight from the container. When I need fresh onion, but find myself without (or just too lazy) or just needing a couple tablespoons, I simply rehydrate according to the instructions on the carton and it works wonderfully. I have even crushed the dry flakes in a mortar to make "minced" onion before rehydrating when I need just a tablespoon or two. Beats having to store most of a fresh onion in the fridge, where the smell permeates everything. For me, these give a good onion flavor, stronger than onion powder, plus they add texture and a certain amount of bulk to my dishes, that you don't get with powder. Obviously, the flavor is not as strong as you'll get with fresh onion, but you can taste it, and it doesn't overpower other flavors, like fresh can. The dried onion lacks the pungent sharpness of fresh, so if that's what you're looking for, you'll be dissapointed. I think the dried has a sweetness that ordinary fresh raw onions don't have and that's one reason I like these. I like to sprinkle them on my salads and baked potatoes as a crispy topper. I've used a lot of dried onions in my 50 years of cooking for a family, and these top my list, far above what I find in the store. My husband is a retired cheff; he said these are the best dried onions he's used, as well. I definitely recommend giving them try.

Great size
I honestly don't know if there's a difference between regular McCormick and Culinary McCormick. I bought this bottle for it's brand name and size. I know McCormick is quality which overall is a great value for my wallet. I've been using fresh onion KY entire cooking years but for the past few years I've grown REALLY tired of, burning eyes while cutting, taking time to mince (hate it) and especially buying onions only to have them ho bad after a few days no matter WHERE they are stored. I decided to try dried minced onions and they are perfect. They add the strong flavor of onion to any dish and no worries of spoiling produce. You have the option too of using less than a whole day gone onion too. Only con is you're not getting the vitamins in fresh onions but it's fine by me. I'll get the vitamins in other ways. Comes in a large, plastic bottle with a dispensing lid.

Great value for quantity and quality of onions. The box doubles as a container, so I didn’t have to buy a container for it.
