Good fit and battery life seems to be 1-2 hours better than original 6 cell. As others have mentioned, the additional (3) cells increase the size of the battery, raising the back of the laptop, so the laptop now sits at an angle. I personally like this because the slanted elevation promotes better cooling, lifting the fan further away from the table surface. Older laptops run hotter, (like the one I have), causing the cooling fan to run more often, further draining the battery. The additional cells/capacity and height of the battery for better cooling both contribute to better battery life.NOTE: From a safe and effective usability perspective, and laptops that have fans on the bottom, it's never a good idea to place a laptop directly on your lap or a soft surface like a bed. The soft surface blocks air flow, causing the laptop to run hotter, possibly shortening the life the laptop. When possible, it's best to use a laptop on a hard surface. This statement doesn't directly apply to this product.

The quality of the battery is very good. When I first got it I conditioned it. To condition it you have to drain the battery all the way down. That took about 2 hours. This is very important to do with a new battery because it sets the internal timing on the battery to maximum. This is a 9 cell battery which gives about twice the run time as the original battery. The battery is much larger than the original and raises the laptop up in back. This actually is a good thing because it allows more air flow to the fans on the laptop. But, if you don’t want your laptop leaning forward a little, do not buy this battery….buy the 6 cell version which is the same size as the original battery. I needed to power my old computer for about 30 minutes to down load pictures. Finally got around to it and Surprise, cant find the cable and the battery has been dead for years, This Compaq is 14 years old. I was shocked I could even find a battery and cord for it. $ 10 buck for the battery, 10 bucks for the cord. Down loaded my pictures, gave the old laptop a clean sweep and gave it to my 3 year old grandson. Yes 3 years old. He plays his Bob the builder games on it. Who'd a thunk it.

Battery is not holding charge, needs to be plugged in all the time just like the old battery. Please advise.This was my first review. The seller, after reading this review, decided to proactively send me another battery which is running good so far. Thanks for the great service. Increasing initial 2 stars to 5 stars ratings.

Updated: without my requesting it, the company offered and sent a replacement battery which fits tight and I no longer have the powering down problem. The rubber feet are still in place too.Seems like a decent enough battery, but if you're buying it for a Compaq Presario CQ60, know that there is just enough play in the fit that it can shut your laptop down if it moves just so and you're not plugged in. So, basically I need to be plugged in all the time. Minor complaint, but the little rubber feet on the bottom came off almost immediately.

Item is as expected. These only last about 3 years if you leave your laptop plugged in all of the time..

It arrived on time. Yet, that's about the only positive thing I can say about this poorly designed batterry. I contacted the company once to report that their product does not fit properly in my laptop, The battery wiggles because it has a loose fit. Also, If you pick up your laptop or move it while in use, the pc will turn off immediately.They contacted me once they became aware of my complaint and said, "we will send you a replacement, and don't bother returning the old battery we'll just replace it free of charge." Well, it has almost been 2 weeks and I've yet to receive a replacement.Buy this product at your own risk.

Please Note That This Battery Is Not A Perfect Fit. BUT It Raises The Computer At A Slight Angle And Helps Making It Much Better For Air Flow Under The Lap Top. And LOVE That I Now Have Twice The Battery Life As Before. Thanks For A Great Product.
