Purchased this to spot Coyotes / Wolves / Foxes near Ducks / Chickens / Dogs / Cows.
3 Settings.HighLowHigh-StrobeLeft-side White Light On ->Right-side Red Light On ->Right-side Red StrobeFor your own good don't twist / remove the front ring that holds the glass / led cone in place. The silicone? Gasket is a pain in the ass to get back into place should it move (orange ring)Charging cable port in the rear. Loose, so can be lost. There's also a small looking female camera mount on the bottom of the device.I would wager this is rain-resistant / rain-proof but not submersible or anything like that.It has an LED that has its own focusing clear cap on it that throws most like 90 degrees straight out, however the rest is put into the cone and all of it is angled back out to a focal point. Even if you cover the front with your hand or fingers (center) the edges will still reflect a center beam behind your hand. Very efficient use of focus. There is no user control over beam width or anything like that. It's a piercing straight like with some cone fallout. If I remember I'll include a picture later.

NOT a wimpy light!!
Needed a flashlight that was brighter than the triple A battery LED lights that were not giving enough light during walks home from church meetings. This purchase met my needs and then some! The beam is like a search light and will light up the side of a building two blocks away. While walking home I have to keep the light pointed at the ground in front of me and it still lights up the width of the street. This is not a wimpy light, you have to be careful not to inadvertently blind others with it. The USB port in the back is great as a fail safe phone charger in a pinch. The charge lasts for a long time. Put one of these in your car and I dare say you could perform surgery on the side of the road.

Mixed review (3 versions of spotlights)
I few years ago, I purchased the larger ODEAR black rechargeable spotlight/lantern. I use it daily. It continues to impress me (e.g. brightness, battery life, reliability). I use the bigger black ODEAR primarily for the red side lantern, although the front spotlight is unbelievably bright.Yesterday I ordered the smaller (gold1) ODEAR searchlight. Today it arrived. Obviously the same high quality as my old larger (black) spotlight/lantern. I'm primarily writing this review to point out the side light functions, which to me appeared unclear when I was shopping. As a result, even though this (gold1) searchlight is amazing, it doesn't have the steady red side lantern like the (black) one has - so for me, not as functional or useful.Smaller (gold1) ODEAR functions: Spotlight modes are all standard white light: 1) high, 2) low, 3) flashing. Side lantern modes: 1) solid white, 2) flashing red/blue. There is also a USB port to plug in other devices to charge them. The ODEAR itself must be charged from the 5v adapter (so don't lose it); this adapter is two part - so you can charge from either USB or 110v. Size wise, I really like this one.Larger (black) ODEAR functions: Spotlight modes are all standard white light: 1) high, 2) low, 3) flashing. Side lantern modes: 1) solid white, 2) solid red, 3) flashing red. No USB outport. The ODEAR itself must be charged via a speciality A/C to D/C adapter (so must be charged from 110v) - and again don't lose the customers adapter)I was hoping the new smaller (gold1) might charge via the more common and more convenient micro-USB cords, but it doesn't. More importantly, I need a solid red lantern - which the (gold1) doesn't have. The USB outport for other devices, might provide enough use that I end up keeping this spotlight. As a rechargeable spotlight, the (gold1) would be hard to beat. The spotlight is dang bright. What I wish is that sellers would not combine products into the same listing. It is too confusing when reading reviews. At the time of this review, ODEAR is listing three great spotlights, somewhat similar, yet each apparently with different functions, different sizes, and different input and output ports from the others. The reviews don't always indicate which similar, but considerably different product is being described. For an emergency spotlight / lantern for road travel - the (gold1) appears awesome. For camping/boating, not so much without a steady red lantern to preserve night-vision. It's most unlikely that I'll need a flashing red/blue light (similar to police cars). But for those of you needing such functions - this appears to be high quality. The biggest downside to these great ODEAR lights, is how they charge. It would be nice if they charged from more common mini or micro USB ports. So don't lose the charger that comes with the light, and don't lose the little plastic plug that keeps water out of the charging port.Oh one more thing about these ODEAR lights. Don't open them, unless you are really good at putting things back together. Don't ask me how I know.--------Review update (6/9/21). I dropped a star.As mentioned above, I wish suppliers didn't combine three similar, yet considerably different products into one listing. It's so confusing, that even when trying to review each of the three spotlights separately; Amazon sends me back to the same review for each one. So here is the updated review. After receiving the small (gold1) light, which does not have a solid red side lantern mode; I decided to order the larger (golden) light. The larger light is very similar to my old large (black) spotlight (noted above). It looks like the current version of the larger (golden) light has only one improvement from my old (black) spotlight - that is the adapter is now two piece (one section allows charging from a USB, the second section is to adapt from DC USB to A/C 110 for charging the spotlight. Nice improvement.Sadly though, the (golden) light came without a rubber cover gasket for the charging port. I use this for boating/camping so water resistance is important to me. I reached out to Amazon (automated), noting the missing piece and requested a replacement. I received a replacement very quickly, but again - no gasket for the charging port on the second order. I don't know how to contact the supplier directly. Looks like I will be returning the spotlights, because of an expensive (yet critical) missing gasket. Maybe we have become too automated, that this minor issue results in 4 shipments (two in, and two back), and problem not solved on a product I like - had it been complete. Actually I'd be glad to purchase the gaskets separately, so I could have spares as they where out. The one on my old (black) spotlight is about ready to fall apart.

cheap and works
I don't think there is a light as bright as this for the cost. The body is pretty cheaply made but it meets the price expectation. The handle feels lightweight hollow constructed. The light is awesome. I tried it at night and it is amazing. I have to try it during my work schedule and see if it can replace my Ryobi Led light which is the brightest light in the Home Depot. It is too bright. I'm yet to see longevity.

Quality and Presentation
When i first recieved the searchlight i was extremely happy, then i opened the box and i quickly changed my mind. The light for its price is great but i was disappointed do to there being several scratches on the inside of the lense as well as some dust or cloudiness to the lense which takes away from the brightness of the light. I was hoping the top could twist off so i could clean it but i could not: the 2nd thing is the color on the picture it shows it to be purple but it turns out its black.

Main light does not work. I do not recommend.
The flashlight does not work. The side lights turned on, but the front/main light would not turn on. I charged it, and still, nothing. I had ordered a second, similar flashlight (to compare which one was brighter) but this one did not even turn on, so there was no comparison. The plastic body around the flashlight was all scratched, and the 2 main buttons were scratched/cracked too. It looked like it was refurbished? Not new. Also, like others had mentioned, this was missing the little black plug that covers the charging port. I bought this to use on rainy nights, so even if the main light worked, I could not use it in the rain.Overall, it arrived not working, missing pieces, and with damage to the flashlight (damage was not from shipping, the box/packaging was fine). I don’t recommend this at all.

Cannot get new charging cord and adapter for this searchlight.
Love the brightness of the light and great to use while walking at night. Unfortunately I lost the charging cord and adapter for the first searchlight I bought so had to buy a second searchlight to be able to charge the last one I’d gotten. Old one is on the charger right now. Still would like another charging cord and adapter to use when I travel so husband can have the other one to use at home. I’ve searched Amazon and the internet and cannot find any.
