Does what it's supposed to. With the 10/22 rifles, you can like the bolt back by pulling the handle back and pressing the bolt lock button. To release it, you need to pull the bolt back a bit further, press the bolt lock button, release the bolt lock button, then release the bolt--kind of a pain. With this, you lock the bolt back the same way, then to release you just pull it back and release. Works great. Be aware this does require a bit of disassembly knowledge and tools. Allen keys to remove the stock, then pin punch sets to remove the trigger group and two pins from the former. Can be confusing to reassemble, so make sure you pull up a tutorial. It took me maybe 15 minutes.

Makes it so much easier to drop the bolt from open on my Ruger 10/22. I absolutely cant recommend enough! A bit technical to install but there are videos everywhere and all the parts are big and easy to put together. Highly recommend!

Compared to other auto release plates, this one is definitely value for the money! Fits like a champ with no problems, works like a charm. The bolt releases now when I pull back on the handle, rather than fiddling with the release.I had zero issues with either the finish or the fit. It dropped right in. All the stock rifle pins fit perfectly. The thickness of the metal seems just fine.As far as installation, no instructions, but a quick search on YouTube for "ruger 10/22 auto bolt release install" and there are a ton of videos to help. Installation took me less than 5 minutes after watching two of these videos and zero problems.Highly recommend this upgrade and this particular plate!

Had issues with installation due to paint messing with the tolerances on the lower pin hole. I just used a drill bit slightly bigger than the hole, small enough for it to still fit in the hole, and reamed out the paint by hand. Once I removed the paint from that lower pin hole, the pin went in just fine. I function tested everything and it worked great!

This piece works perfectly. I tried to dremmel out the original in hopes that it would work the same way, but to no avail.This drops right in (relatively speaking). Total installation time was about 6 minutes. If my dang mag release lever would have cooperated and came right out, it would have been even quicker. But that is no fault of the bolt release. For 10 bucks, this baby goes right in, and no more fussing with two hands trying to release the bolt. Fits perfect. No rattling around as others have said. Finish is nice. Looks great.Definitely worth the money.

If you don't want to take chances on filing down the tooth and shaping the hole on your original bolt catch plate, this is an inexpensive fix. Works great - and despite a couple of complaints I read here, the paint job on mine was even and not gritty, and there were no sharp burrs or edges. The only down side is that there are no instructions or paperwork linking to an online video, it just came in a plain plastic baggie. For those of us who aren't gunsmiths and a little daunted about breaking things down beyond a basic field strip, I recommend watching the YouTube video "TANDEMKROSS Ruger 10/22 "Guardian" Bolt Release Plate Product Overview" for a brief but detailed how-to (I don't think URL links will work in Amazon reviews, so just search that up) - and enjoy not having to use 2 hands to release your bolt!

Good fit and finish and functions as it should. The 10/22 should come from the factory, but thankfully aftermarket parts like this are available.
