Good value for the price
bought to replace phone that was damaged in a bike accident. This phone does what I would expect it to. Nothing fancy, but for the price, it is excellent value for money. Internet connection can be a bit dodgy, but that may be the internet or te phone so I can't pass judgement on that. Overall, a cheap phone that provides value for money

A few positives, but lots of niggles
I've been using this phone as a replacement for my Samsung galaxy s4 mini which was on its last legs. I'd never heard of Medion before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. After a few days' use, I can't say I'm a convert! The phone definitely has some good points. It has a slim, sleek build, looks pretty good and the materials don't feel particularly cheap. The screen resolution is excellent, and everything looks crisp and bright. There is a digital manual provided on the phone which is useful, and the phone's settings menus are easy to navigate. The Android operating system is reliably good as usual. The phone seems quick to respond to commands with no lag or freezing so far when using it offline. When the notifications system works, it's great to see all your texts, emails etc listed on the screen without having to unlock it. However, those are the only positives I can think of.The negatives are more obvious. The first annoying thing is that it's not recognised by my network provider as a device which can be automatically set to use my data allowance. As such you have to ring up and get the details of your network's mobile settings and enter them manually which is a hassle and which I have yet to be able to do successfully. Normally you can just received a text with the settings on but this doesn't work on this phone.Secondly, the phone has more than once randomly decided to stop recognising my SIM card and then require it to be set as the primary SIM again, something I haven't encountered before.Thirdly, whether or not you receive a notification for certain things, particularly WhatsApp messages, seems to be a lucky dip - sometimes you don't see new texts or messages until actually entering the specific app to look for them.Fourthly, the internet doesn't seem to be as quick on the phone as it is on my very old tablet using the same wireless network, which doesn't say much for it.Fifthly, the camera is not good. The resolution may be high but focusing is awful and the colour balance in low light is very poor with everything coming out dark and drab looking.Of course this is a budget phone so you can't expect the same level of performance as phones that cost twice or three times as much, but there are too many niggles here that could easily be fixed for me to recommend it. With a bit more work, this could be a great phone for the lower end of the market, but at the moment it is a bit frustrating.

Fast and Effective, extra 1GB RAM would have been the icing on the cake.
I have had this phone for just under a month now. The Medion P5005 is a competent phone, however there are a few gotchas with this phone. Firstly, the phone itself is pleasing to the eye, it has a decent weight to it, not overly heavy, but a weight of good quality. The dual-Sim is a bonus, especially when abroad so you can add a local SIM card and use your existing SIM. Remember it has 1 micro SIM and standard SIM. I've noticed in most foreign countries now give microSIM as standard, so it maybe handy to keep a SIM adapter. The screen is good and sharp, well it is an IPS display and the touch screen is responsive, the version of Android is not marshmallow, however, I am not too fussed with Android lollipop. The phone itself is quite big, but I've seen bigger. But, this is a personal preference, considering I have a Galaxy S6 Edge, this feels cumbersome. However, that is a premium phone and this is a budget phone. The P5005 does what I need. Viewing webpages and multi-tasking is good, I can have several pages open at once, however as the phone only has 1gb, if I view two pdf documents, then Adobe will reset itself or crash. So, this phone is only good for small to medium load of work. It has a octa-core processor, so why did they skimp on RAM. If the phone had 2GB of RAM then it would be sufficient. However other phones within this price range and category have 1.5 or 2GB of RAM.The gotchas are that when you have two SIM's it for some reason it loses the signal from one SIM just out of the blue. I restart the device and then the signal shoots back up again. So, not sure what is going on here. The data network signal is good, it handles 3G well, I can download items well. So, no issues on this point. My main issue is that this has a fast processor, but not enough RAM. Also, there is nothing on this phone that can distinguish it from other phones in this category. When you look at the budget landscape, you can see other manufacturers are adding extra 1GB of RAM and also other features that set it out from others. It doesn't have much bloatware on the phone, I've seen some phones that come with a heap of bloatware, which you would never use. This has a minimum of bloatware, which is a bonus. The good thing is that this phone is priced well, so in essence you get a good phone at a great price, just ensure you shop around though. So, on this basis I highly recommend it. It is priced well and it is fast. If only it had an extra 1GB of RAM, that would have been the icing on the cake. But, for what it currently is, it is a great budget phone.
