Monet By Himself (Artist by Himself) Hardcover – Import, 24 May 2000

This might seem like it's giving you a lot for your money, but many reproductions are on the faint side. I checked this with a second copy of it elsewhere. If you want a good example of printing Monet or only want one big book on him, "Monet: The Triumph of Impressionism" is a more reliable source- just make very sure you are getting the right sized edition of that one as there are several. His later light studies look especially insubstantial or anaemic with the 'thin' printing in "Monet By Himself". The earlier his pictures, the less often they seem to suffer in this book.The hardback edition is huge and definitely not for public transport... unless you intend to defend yourself with it.

Good condition. Weighty tone.

You can't go wrong with any of the books in this series. Well researched, beautifully illustrated and well priced [I picked up a full set for 1 pence each].
