What is the difference between the "light" roast and regular or french roast? Is it like the difference between light chocolate and dark chocolate?

Not really, at least to my taste buds. The explanation of flavors of the two are really perfectly described in the product description: GHANA FRENCH ROAST: Bold & Roasty Flavor Delicious bold and roasty natural chocolate taste with an earthy flavor. GHANA LIGHT ROAST: Chocolatey & Smooth Flavor Delicious smooth texture and natural chocolate flavor with an earthy flavor. So, I thought I'd like the French Roast better since I like dark chocolate better and I drink medium to dark coffee roasts. But I actually like the Light roast just a little bit better because to me it imparts more of a chocolate flavor. I always mix mine with equal parts coffee grinds when I brew it though. It's a great mocha flavor when done:) I use a five cup coffee maker (but fill only up to the 4 mark with water) and use a gold tone filter--one scoop Crio Bru and one scoop coffee. It comes out fabulously! Yummmmm! Hope this was helpful.

Can it be made with milk instead of water?

It can, if you used a French press and heated the milk. But it works just as well to use water and then add heavy whipping cream or your favorite coffee creamer.

can this be cold brewed?

Hey there, thanks for reaching out! Cold brewing doesn’t work well because the cocoa butter in the grounds repels cold water and extraction isn’t great. That being said, some of our customers have tinkered and found success. However, it’s super yummy iced! Brew according to instructions then refrigerate to chill or you can brew at double strength and pour over ice. 👌

Has anyone tried brewing this in an Aeropress?

I used a french press works great.
