Cole's SM10 Sunflower Meats Bird Seed, 10-Pound

I have tried other bird foods and always come back to this one. It is more expensive than a lot of bird food, but the birds like it more. I never find anything weird in the bag like other bird foods. No dust, no clumps, just sunflower seeds. I guess this is one of those things where you get what you pay for... it costs more but it is higher quality.

The birds (the real critics) love it. Do note that it’s primarily chips rather than whole kernels, but it clearly hits the spot for our backyard friends - and for our frenemy the squirrel. Definitely not a discount brand, but worth the price - and no hulls in the grass! Thanks for such a good product!

Feeding birds

Great seeds and no clean up. I am now buying the meats instead of the whole black husked sunflower seeds. The shells attracted rats and no matter how often I cleaned up the area, there were always shells. The "bottom feeders" (birds that feed on the ground) quickly catch any dropped to the ground and there are no shells. Problem solved. Love these and the birds love them too. I will be purchasing these from now on. Nice and clean whole seeds!

The 10 lb bag of Cole's sunflower meats arrived before promised delivery date and in perfect condition. Sunflower meats are packaged well and are whole meats (seeds), no chips or pieces. No complaints with the Cole's product or Esbenshades Garden Ctr service.

We have a large feeder structure in our back yard and we feed both birds and squirrels. We have a special nut mix for the majority of our feeding, but we also have a ground feeder and a hanging feeder for the smaller birds who prefer sunflower seeds. They went through this seed very quickly, so it must taste good. The squirrels also love it, and in the past few months we've had to replace the feeder because they chewed a hole into the longer one, and tore the swivel door off another. We though we'd found a foolproof feeder, because it has a narrow opening for feeding, but alas - no such luck, as you can see from this photo.

I have been feeding the birds and doves another brand of shelled sunflower seeds for years ! Bought Coles and they won't touch it !!! The old saying applies, "If it is not broken, don't try and fix it " $40 down the drain !

I only feed shell-less seeds to the birds to keep the mess around the feeders to a minimum. Anything that the feeder birds knock down to the ground is gobbled up by the doves and cardinals. This is a good value for the money and the birds loved it!
