This worked beautifully! For the first test, I ran a small sample I knew contained some gold and recovered more than 4X the amount I thought was in it! Remember: the finer the material you put into the concentrator, the lower/slower you want the water flowing. It also takes longer to separate finer particle sizes. Be patient and just let it do its job. If you don't have it set right and you are washing out ore, just pour what is in the bucket underneath back into the bowl and run it again. Practice makes perfect! If you are going to pack the bowl to take along into the field, don't use it to carry other tools or objects. You want to protect the surface of the bowl from scratches and keep it as smooth as possible. Don't treat it like a gold pan! I use a 10-gallon storage container as both reservoir and packing box. The bowl goes in upside down and everything else gets carefully packed around it. Get a set of qualifying meshes to separate your concentrates. This will make a huge difference in recovering gold. Also, buy a bullseye spirit level to assist in leveling the bowl.

I was skeptical and held off on purchasing something like this for a long time. Now a convert. I was amazed by how well this system worked for getting gold out of black sands. Very fun to watch, and way way less work than panning or working a cleanup sluice. If you have a few jars of classified black sands sitting in your garage, do yourself a favor and buy this thing :D.

I found the Blue Bowl to be pretty amazing. It requires good leveling, and finding the perfect water speed takes time and experimentation. But overall there is a lot of control and nuance available in this system to separate gold from the fines. It comes with everything you need. The tube is short but adequate without any modification. I put a 5 gal bucket (with a few holes drilled in it about 3/4 of the way up) into an 18 Gal Walmart tote/bin. The pump draws from the 18 Gal Bin. The Blue Bowl sits on bucket, all sand goes into bucket. This is a recirculating set up. Can be used indoors with no mess. A little pricey IMHO but compared to other gold separation devices it is a bargain.

3 foot description of included hose is incorrect had to go buy 3/4 hose and a extender to add into the product. More like one foot is what it came with. I ordered a dc converter from amazon to be able to plug pump into 110v source to make the process easier. Overall very satisfied with the product itself just wish it came with longer hose.

I have a Gold Cube (best product you can buy for getting 1/8" classified dredge material down to super concentrates) and wanted a second product to mechanically pan out the super cons. I would rather dredge for 8 hours than spend 5 minutes with a pan. I have used a Miller Table but found it too time consuming and a less convenient setup. I purchased a pound of Yuba River paydirt to test it. I have used Yuba River pay several times before testing equipment over the winter and have a good idea about the gold content. The product advertises it cannot process anything larger than 30 mesh, and that is a fact. I tried larger (as a test) but it simply could not move anything larger. As with any finishing device, the name of the game is classifying. I classified to 50 mesh and then 100 mesh and was able to recover the gold as expected. I panned the tailings from both mesh sizes separately and only found one very small flake. Nothing is 100% (panning your pan concentrates will sometimes yield a small flake too). It definitely takes time, and from my first use I could not get to the point where only gold was present with all black sand gone, but it was close enough for use to then snuff up gold flakes.

I was running my blue bowl for about the 8th time and my pump stops. I had if hooked up to a Battery & Battery charger at the same time. I e-mail amazon and the company that sold this to me just gives me the manufacture's contact info. So no help from the people i bought it from! Call the Manufacture and they tell me in the fine print not to use this setup. OK my Bad but the lady then tells me they hook up straight to a battery charger and battery in there Own repair shop . But they can't help me out as i voided the warranty doing the same thing they do everyday. I asked if they could sell me a pump at a discount and guess what that answer was. Sorry we can't help you out. If hooking up a batter and charger is so horrible why do they do it and why is there not bold print on the pump or box tell not to use this setup. This Bowl works great but know there is no kind of customer support at all. 9/21/23 UPDATE So i went on the manufactures website to find the instructions and there was no warning to not use a battery charger. In there instructions they say you can use a battery charger. I posted the page from there website with this review. SO where is my warranty replacement for the motor.
