Not as advertised, unreliable, cheaply thrown together. Save your money.
Bought this last year. It states as being MPPT but in reality it is not.I would not advise using this unit in a more permanent off grid situation. Very unreliable, but one pays for they get.If reliability is needed, spend the extra and go with a Victron or Epever Tracer unit. Although a little over £100, it would be well worth it in the long run.I used this on a boat with a small camping array, just to keep the battery topped up while not onboard and within less than a year it has packed up. Screen died and has no charge or load power.

Faulty Product
Faulty product.Good points:- has a thermometer- simple to use settings- records total amp hours chargedBad points:There is a setting to prevent over charging your battery, this has not worked at all for me. I swapped my charge controller to this one and it seemed fine, I went for a walk during a sunny day and came back to my CO/CO2 alarm going crazy. Voltmeters reading over 15v for a 12v battery set to prevent charging over 13v. My leisure batteries are useless now, they hold far less charge than they originally did beforehand and the battery fluid had evaporated.Second issue, this charge controller records the amperage outgoing through the lighting connections, this has continually read 0.2/0.3 Amps with nothing connected.

Works ok but needs to be calibrated.
Opted for the cheaper unit, mistake. This unit works ok, will show voltage on batteries but not incoming Voltage from solar panels, no Amp display but Voltage drop will be displayed as it is happening eg. when Diesel heater is switched on, up to heater running, then shows increase in voltage. Useful up to a point but more expensive would be a better buy because of the information contained.

Controls solar panel voltage to the battery
Does it satisfactorily

Manual missing battery type instructions
The unit I received has a small one page "manual" describing all the settings except battery type for which there are four options. I cannot find any information on what they relate to? Having used it for a day or seems to be regulating the charge from the solar panel into a normal flooded lead acid battery. I've not run the battery low enough to test the load regulation cut off point (10.7 volts)Overall happy with the unit but the instructions are lacking.

Damages batteries and not accurate control
If you must use one of these for financial reasons, make sure you have a separate volt meter!!! My controller was telling me it was charging at 14.4v but the voltmeter on my multimeter was reading 16v+!! Do not use on new batteries and never trust the accuracy of it. Just ordered a victron before I end up with fried batteries. Cheap shyte but does a turn if you’re careful and skint. Would not recommend

good value
Really pleased with this. Inobtrusive but visible when needed. It displays all the information I need and good value
