A lot harder than it seemed

Not impressed. The glue was all dried out. Not sure how we are going to complete this project without the glue/cement. Very disappointed.

Very hard to get tiles to stay in place especially after wiping down the grout.

If you have nothing to do for the next week, go ahead and buy this kit. First, I bought this for my 10 year old,as it is sold as a child's kit. The gloves are meant for an adult, so handling the tiles was very cumbersome for her. Then, per the directions, you only apply one color of tiles at a time(eight colors in all) and then wait for 30 minutes in between colors. Seriously? And there are TWO votives! Then you wait twelve hours to grout them. I ended up just buying some cheap wood frames that we layed the tiles on after my daughter and I got so frusterated with the tiles sliding off the glass votives, we gave up.If you have countless hours of free time and a hell of a lot more patience than we have, enjoy the kit.Upside, it wasn't too expensive and the tile colors were pretty.

for once i found a kit with everything i needed to finish the project, even a little extra. almost every craft kit ive ever bought has one or two items NOT included, which of course i only figout that fact out after starting the project. i wouldnt recommend this kit for children or beginners, as its pretty tedious work gluing all of the tiny, sharp pieces of glass to the candle holders. the best part about the kit i found to be that it gives you the knowledge to creat your own designs in the future. the candle holders look really amazing when the candles are lit, making them glow just like the picture on the box. highly recommend this product, so much that i ended up buying 3 more as gifts.

A friend of mine is into mosaic and when I gave it as gift she loved it. just simply perfect. Came on time.

wasn't happy with the way the mosaics went on

It's obvious by the previous reviewer that mosaic isn't their thing. It's definitely mine! I have been purchasing my tile from Mosaic Mercantile for years. I started out with the kits first because I had no clue where to start, but knew I wanted to create pieces of my own one day. Honestly, to glue tile onto a curved surface that stands up can be challenging. A different type of glue can be used, which is more tacky than the glue that is provided in the kit. Although with patience, (which most children below 10 have a 10 min or less patience scale) the tile has to set on the glue, laying down. By keeping the tiled piece centered and still, like inbetween bookcases would be great. I usually use canned goods to keep the curved piece still. I give it a 5 for creative fun!
