Great insights, actionable tips, tangible next steps
This is a fantastic book for learning tactical steps to take to begin forming - or reviewing your existing - people analytics practice. I have read several books that seem to try and 'sell' the case to executives for why people analytics is important and the value to be gained; this is the book that will tell you how to do it. It is organized, thorough, and doesn't waste time with unnecessarily redundant stories. This is the practical guide for getting off the ground and includes step-by-step instructions for getting the job done. I was very impressed with the depth of the content as it includes a multitude of hands-on examples and walkthroughs. It's great for a read and for an ongoing reference for even the experienced practitioner. 5 stars

For all who want to make data driven decision on People
Essential for everyone in management and in the HR functions, either analysts, business partners or managers, that are interested in making more of their people related data and want to start analysing for better decision making in all aspects that have to do with people. It is also super helpful for people such as myself that is already on their way in the people analytics journey. I got a great insight from the book of potential focus areas, eg. modeling behaviors, segmentation of workforce in more meaningful ways and great ideas of quantifying every step of the employee journey. Making sense in numbers and dollars is essential.Great book by Mike West, a pioneer in the People analytics field, working for companies like Merck, Google and on his own project the PeopleAnalyst.

People Analytics 101
This book doesn't necessarily get deep into the technical, statistical, or programming/coding aspects of advanced people analytics (PA), but it does a GREAT job of covering the fundamentals. Truly a must-read for anyone:- just starting their career in PA- who has been in PA for years, but needs a resource to help develop junior staff- works in HR, but is not making truly data-driven decisions and/or wants to learn the fundamentals of PA- is not in HR, but leads a team and wants a better understanding of PA

It went over my head so I think that's good
"People Analytics For Dummies" by Mike West went over my head and I think that's probably okay. I selected it out of curiosity but while it is "For Dummies", it really isn't. I could follow the topics up to a certain point (Introduction and Chapter 1) but after that, it slowly and then not so slowly went right over my head. The reason why I think that's okay is because for the intended audience (ex: a HR person just starting out in recruitment and retention), it would work for that person because while it is "For Dummies", it isn't dumbed-down. It is thoughtful and pretty thorough. The graphics got a little blurry for me (I had to get out the magnifying glass for Figure 8.3 and 8.4 on page 137), but overall, the images are crisp and readable.I can't give it anything less than a 4-star because while it is technical and specific and not in my wheelhouse, I think the intended audience will find it a worthwhile read.

Helped my husband who has been doing analytics for years.
Good book. My husband learned a few things which is a little scary to me because, like I said, he has been doing People Analytics for years for a Fortune 500 company. It held his attention, which is not easy. Normally I have to attach something shiny to the things I need him to pay attention too. Good purchase.

Great Read
So many insights in this book. Highly recommend. I'm CFO for a consulting firm and has evolved they way I look at investments, our performance reviews and how we look at quantifying impacts.
