Glad I Bought This
I was considering the type that goes down the line and hits the lure because it was cheaper. This is a lot easier to use. I was surprised by the build quality and length. I sometimes get lures caught in trees, too, and this should work for those. I wish I had this years ago. I would have paid for itself easily.

Best lure retriever by far
This is the best lure retriever I have ever owned. It has an incredibly high retrieval rate and you really don’t waste much time, even around 15’ of water. It collapses nice and short for the Rod box and it’s pretty easy to partially collapse in and lay on the boat deck while fishing crankbaits. It has more than paid for itself in just the last two months. In fact, now I have saved way more in value of lures saves than the pole cost. I would say I have retrieved about 25 crankbaits already thru august 25–at $7.00 each, that’s $175.00 and I know there were some $15-20 crankbaits in the mix. Thank you for the great product

This Dot Line works awesome! I have used it about a dozen times ...
I've tried the retriever on a line but it is hard to bounce it up and down while handling the rod and the trolling motor. This Dot Line works awesome! I have used it about a dozen times and was able to get my lure back every time! It paid for itself within the first few times fishing. I now have velcro straps on my boat so I always have it handy. Well worth the price.

Cheaply Made/ Company Unhelpful
I ordered this product 2 years ago and used it maybe six times. For the most part it sat in the button of my boat, truth be told I use it to get my lure out of trees more than in the water.Recently, I went to use it and the screw locking end came off. I thought no big deal, I'll just email the manufacturer and ask what product I could use to glue it back together. The company responded by saying that there's nothing to fix it. Didn't offer any help or apology for the workmanship or lack there of. DO NOT BUY. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE.

Fell apart after one use.
Edit: We contacted customer service. They were very supportive and offered a replacement or refund for our issue. We are getting this item replaced and look forward to using it!The epoxy broke so the pole is now in two pieces. The product is unable to be used after one single use. Very disappointed.

Collar lock plastic cracked after first used.
It did retrieved the lures for me but I noticed the collar lock on the tip cracked after coming home. I suspect it will work less effective next time. Ordered replacement but it was canceled / delayed twice. It’s probably not taking the return , Amazon page still shows available to purchase. Please honor the seller agreement

Effective but too heavy
It is effective at doing its job but is heavy especially when extended. It also needs a strap
