Works very well!
This device proved VERY useful for me while on a long flight to Rio recently by keeping my iPod Touch 4g charged up!The advertised "Up to 35 hours of usage" is a bit of a stretch though!Granted, I have an iPod Touch 4g which sucks up a battery about as quickly as an iPhone does, but I find it hard to imagine ANY type of device that could get 35 hours of use from the charge this provides. It will charge my iPod Touch 4g very quickly (in about 30-45 minutes) from a completely discharged state to about a 70%-90% state of charge. (If you continue to use it WHILE you are charging your iPod or iPhone from a discharged state, expect to get about a 50-60% charge)On an iPod Touch 4g, this provides about 2-4 hours of normal use (watching videos, playing games, surfing the internet, typing emails, etc.) with the screen brightness set to a conservative level (about 30%). If you are just listening to music, with the screen turned off, then you will get MUCH more than 2-4 hours of use from the charge this provides. (Easily more than 10 hours)This was a lot smaller and lighter than I expected it to be. It is much smaller and lighter than my iPod Touch, and only slightly thicker.I would definitely recommend this product, but if I had it to do over again, I would probably purchase something with a higher battery capacity than this, for those REALLY long flights. (I had to charge my iPod and this charger at the airport during my flight layover in order to keep my iPod working throughout my entire trip to Rio de Janeiro from California) Consider these 2 Duracell products before you buy this one:Duracell Mobile Charger With 2AA Pre Charged Rechargeable Nimh Batteries, CEF23DX2Duracell Powerhouse USB Charger with Lithium ion battery / includes universal cable with USB and mini USB,UPDATE: Forget all of these Duracell products, and check this one out instead!:New Trent Extreme Pack IMP1000 11000mAh External Battery pack for Apple iPad, iPhone 4G 4, iPhone 3G 3GS, iPod Touch (1G 2G 3G), Motorola Droid X Eris, HTC EVO Android Phones, Blackberry (Curve, tour, storm, bold) Black NewThis provides 10 TIMES the power storage of the Duracell, in a compact size!! This is what I'm buying next! This will charge my iPod Touch 8 times before needing a recharge! SWEET!

Great for a Quick and Easy Charge
I brought this battery pack for my iPhone 4 for when I'm on longer bicycle rides (8 hours plus) and I'm using GPS the entire time. I didn't need anything that gave me a full charge, but something that was light, easy to carry and gave me a few extra hours. This product does exactly that.It is 100% compatible with the iPhone 4 (couldn't find anything that says it was prior to me purchasing it). From a fully charged battery pack and a dead iPhone 4, it charges it to 55% before the battery is drained. Running a GPS program and listening to music that gives me another 3-4 hours of life, which is exactly what I wanted. If you are looking for something that will give you a quick charge, then I would highly recommend this product. For the low cost it can't be beat. However, if you are looking for a battery pack that gives you a COMPLETE charge (depending on the device) you may consider something with more mAh (Milliamp Hours). It comes with a USB cable for charging the battery pack and takes about 2 hours to fully charge from completely drained when plugged into my computer's USB port. It has a small on/off switch on the side and an easy to ready LED light on the front. Green is on and charged, Amber is on and drained, no LED is off.If you have a device that can be charged by plugging it into your computer, then this battery pack should work on that device. Instead of plugging the device into the computer, you plug it into this device and turn it on.Just to further test its capabilities, I was also able to partially charge a Kindle (2nd Gen), an iPhone 3GS, iPod Nano (3rd gen), and a BlackBerry 9700.

Best suited for older devices (or as a backup of a backup)
This Duracell USB Charger arrives in shrink wrap packaging and I had to break out the scissors in order to open it. Inside, there is the charger, a short mini-USB to USB cable, and one page of instructions in English and Chinese. An AC adapter is NOT included. This is an older device and indeed it is best suited for charging older less demanding devices, think along the lines of the adorably practical Sandisk Clip Plus mp3 players. The packaging material list the iPhone 3G, Motorola Razr v3 and Blackberry Curve as some of its contemporary devices. You charge the charger on the IN port. There is IN and an arrow written on the bottom of the device. The input is mini USB, so to charge the charger, you can use the included mini USB cable for computer charging or any other compatible mini USB cable/adapter. While it is charging, the light on the device is an orange red. When the device is fully charged, it turns to green. I charged it both on the computer and using my own USB AC adapter. You can charge other devices from it using the OUT port which is a full size USB port. You can use the supplied short cable if you are charging a mini USB device (such Sandisk Clip or Clip Plus players, Creative Labs Zen mp3 player). If you are charging devices with micro USB (most of today's modern phones and gadgets) or Apple devices, you have to use your own cable.Charging is not particularly fast but it is faster than depletion for some devices if you are using the device while charging. It charged faster than depletion on a basic Android phone and the Kobo Touch ebook reader while it was updating its firmware. I don't remember details for other devices I tried. While the charger is charging a device on its output port, its light is green. When it gets close to running out of juice, it turns orange. In my experience, if you see orange, it's almost empty. The charger has an On/Off button on the side. It won't charge a device unless you turn it on. It is not one of those chargers that starts charging automatically when you connect something to it.If you have a modern Android phone with a giant screen or one of the latest iPhones, you are probably better off getting a more powerful device. This was designed at the time of the iPhone 3G, so think along those power requirements and screen sizes. However, this can be useful as a backup of your backup. It has enough power to get you through if you are in the middle of an email or reading the news for example, but it's probably not going to give you a full charge. If you have older phones or other older gadgets like the Sandisk Clip mp3 players, then this is a better match. Doing a combination of charging multiple Clips in different stages of depletion, I am getting about 120% to 150% of Clip Plus charging per Duracell charge (for example, charge two half-empty Clip Plus devices). The battery indicator on the Clips is not always accurate, so YMMV. My Clips are old, so perhaps newer ones with fresher batteries may do better. Its size is a plus if you like lightweight and flat chargers. It is 9cm by 4cm and about 1cm thick.
