If I put the Tandem single 20 amp breaker in my box with a hot wire on each lug, will I have two separate 20 amp 110 volt lines? lines?

Don't confuse this if what you need is TWO pole, two lines (poles) for a 240V device! This is ONE single pole you are "splitting". You get only 110V total from theses two lines since you simply attached two wires to the same one pole source. Have seen this where "weekend electricians" have no clue why their brand new 240V device won't work!

Where is the handle tie?

This breaker is designed to allow you to use 2 circuits in the space of 1. It is NOT set up as a 220 breaker with the 2 breakers attached with a handle tie. They are just 2 individual 20 amp breakers.

How do I fit my new 20/20 tandam square D on the breaker metal slot ??? the right side plastic part fits...i can't get the left side to push on

So long as you bought the correct version for your box (there are 3 types I am aware of with that brand, you have do a bit of maneuvering, (i make sure I have pushed ias far away from the metal slot as you can, then, push VERY firmly to snap it into place. I have installed many of these and it it all comes down to positioning, then pushing it on, harder than you would expect. Of course, be very careful if the box is hot (I wear rubberised gloves).

My square d tandam 20/20 breaker is a ho type i was told that i need a qo type by lowe's would this be right info ????

If the breaker you took out of your square D electrical panel is an Ho then you need an Ho breaker . The QO will not fit it belongs in a square D QO panel
