After an Amazon snafu in which I was sent something completely different than a GDEMU, I finally received the actual item. It is the real deal. This is a well made clone. Yes, it is a clone so do NOT update the firmware from the official site or you will indeed brick the board. But, there is no need to update. As long as you have proper GDI images and an SD card that is fast and reliable (Sandisk Extreme is what I use) you will have no issues. I have tested nearly the entire USA set of GDI images and every game works just fine. While I try to support the original devs when I can, the official version of this board is basically unobtainable from the original designer. This clone however is readily available and it truly is a quality piece. Thanks to the seller for bringing this to us. Please clone the Rhea and Phoebe now! UPDATE: I have tested a 512GB card as well (PNY branded) and it works perfectly. Finally the WHOLE collection on one SD card!

I have been using this for about a week now. It works great, no issue loading GDI files and no skipping sound or any play problems whatsoever. Since you are removing the GD rom drive, you should also remove the 12v regulator on the power supply or you could risk excessive heat buildup. I didnt notice any heat myself, but it was simple to remove the regulator and it is cheap insurance. This is great bargain, and the included instructions make this easy to install for anyone. Wonderful upgrade for your aging dreamcast!

I hate to say it, but the "legit" GDEMU is just too hard to find/too expensive and the guy doesn't pump them out fast enough. I was more than happy to purchase this alternative. It works flawlessly, and super easy to install. My DC is now the best it can be. I highly recommend the DCHDMI as well, these two product combined will extend the life, and quality of your DC for many many years to come. Now I just need one of these for my SEGA Saturn. Also, I used a micro SD card in the SD card adapter, had no issues. 128 GB.

I did have an initial problem where the first one that I received didn't work. The led constantly flashed and it displayed a static Dreamcast logo that had no animation to it. I returned the initial one, and the second one that I got works flawlessly. The speed increase on loading is awesome and the menu system rocks. This is a solid clone. Just be sure to not flash the bios on this one.

Swapped out the GDROM drive for this little gem, loaded a few of my backed up DC games on an SD Card and the performance of my system is like night and day! Faster loading times and not having to worry about if the lens will read the game disc makes this a MUST BUY!

Of course it died just a few days after I would have been able to return it for being defective. DC will turn on and then it just sits on a black screen. It was perfectly fine prior to that. I didn't change anything and it just stopped working. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Waste of $100.

Besides the fact that I found out it's cheaper on ebay, it's as surefire and secure of a way to pirate games on your dreamcast there is! The modding wasn't even that difficult.

DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE. IT WILL BRICK! Though it's not the official GDEmu, this copy works perfectly. It also came with clipon stands so the card can balance itself inside the case. Played a large number of Dreamcast games with no hiccups so far. In my book, it's a good buy.
