it works for protecting when I'm ironing two pieces of ripstop nylon together at the edges - to keep the ripstop nylon from melting to the iron or sticking to the surface it is on. I read about this method of sealing the edges so they don't fray - it also can work as a form of light basting

So far so good, but have only used it 2 or 3 times. Heavier duty than my parchment paper.
