REP FITNESS FB-4000 Competition Flat Bench for Weightlifting, Bench Press, Home and Garage Gyms, 700 lb Rated

I did a ton of research on flat benches on amazon – here is why I chose this one.1) 3 post flat bench. The reason why is because all the wider front posts on most other benches get in the way of your feet for positioning yourself for benching. This is the only 3x3” 3 post bench.2) Wheels – easy to maneuver around when I want to use my power rack for squatting or pull-ups for myself or my GF.3) Handle – makes it easier to move it around.4) Bench height – under 17.75 inches – this is standard benching height and ensures your feet can easily touch the ground.5) Solid weight rating – I didn’t want some flimsy 22lb bench that doesn’t even support a real weight rating – safety factor and peace of mind.6) Reputable brand – REP is known for having some solid benches, and I’ve been happy with my other Rep Fitness gear so I knew I could trust them.I have the bench set up and wanted to list the pros and cons:1) Construction – feels solid, very solid actually. The vinyl material has some grip to it which makes it so I’m not sliding around when benching… awesome!2) Wheels/handle/easy to maneuver – a big plus here.3) Easy to assemble. All I had to assemble was the pad, back piece, and wheels. Took me like 15 mins.4) Pad is thick and comfortable. I can see it lasting a long time, especially for my home gym.Cons: - only one. The packaging wasn’t great when it arrived. However, all the pieces are in good conditioning, so not a big deal. Overall, I’m super happy I did the research and got this bench!

For reference I am an 83kg power lifter with a 555 kg total. I bought this strictly for benching in my rack.This bench was shipped as promised and arrived in great condition. The packaging was more than adequate and no parts were damaged. The bench is well machined and the hardware is pretty decent. I assembled it in about 10 minutes with no issues. It has a nice finish and seems like it will be durable.The bench is exactly what I wanted and there are no surprises. It is a little tippy on the post side when I sit on it and would possibly have issues for supplemental exercises. When benching your weight goes over the long bar at the top and it is rock solid.Bottom line: If you want a flat bench for a competition bench press this one is great quality at a great price. Even if you don’t need the single post to pull your feet in tight its still awesome for benching - Super wide and grippy.

The bench unfortunately is unstable. It falls over if you tilt your weight even the slightest. As a trainer it’s a liability nightmare. Now, the product is gorgeous and made sooooo well. I truly wish I could keep it. This is a specialty product. I Purchased it for our bench press area as the description said to allow for proper foot positioning, but the design is so unstable that the bench literally rocks side to side constantly that it seems simply unsafe to use. I just ordered a different REP flat bench to at least still give my business to REP because I really like this company and all their products. Just a heads up, this bench is ONLY for specific use and is very laterally unstable. Thanks REP for allowing my refund, that’s why I turned right around and bought another bench.

The bench got to me quickly, and well packed. It was very easy to assemble, and the hardware is appropriate. The company sells a heavier version of this bench, but I have no idea who could ever possibly need it, and this is not a light weight bench. The finish is entirely appropriate, the tripod design does help with foot placement and stability and the upholstery is not slippery. No shaking whatsoever when benching, something I was having issues with when using my FID bench. I can see this thing lasting forever, at least in a home gym setting.

If you have a home gym then THIS is the bench to get. VERY solid and sturdy. I have a small power cage and a few weights in my basement - along with a lot of the family's other junk! Having this bench means I can store it upright when not in use (Squats, Dead lifts inside the cage) and then easily wheel it into the cage for Bench Presses. Both the handle and the front end wheels make it fast and easy to move around. It stores upended against the wall with no balance issues. The surface is just right grip-ness for getting that shoulder pinch up into position for Presses. And, it was a $$ deal. I had an old cheap bench that had all kinds of wiggle wobble - no more! Solid as a rock. And having the foot end free of attachments means no probs getting my feet planted for support when pressing. Highly recommended!!

Fast shipping, good packaging, and no damage!Solid construction with good welds and true powder coating. Plywood backing for the pad goes full length. Pad, backbone and support post for wheels are symmetrical so assembly is easy! Hardware is well organized and instructions are easy. Only tested it out a little bit but it’s the best bench I’ve ever owned and on par with professional equipment. Very happy!I shopped around for a FID adjustable bench and had trouble finding a good one. I was skeptical of most of the ones available and the reviews that people posted. I ended up paying a little more for this flat bench and there’s no way any of those other adjustable ones could match this quality.

I wanted a solid utility bench to move into the power rack for bench press and then out of the way against the wall the rest of the time. This bench fits the bill. The wheels on the end make it easy to move around the room. The large rubber feet make it stay put where you put it on our eva foam gym floor. So far its been very stable under load.
