Great do it yourself hone!
Honed cylinders in 6.2 GM engine. The secret is keeping the stones clean! I used kerosene and put it in a plastic salad dressing bottle, poked a hole in the top so I could keep a steady stream on the stones. After 30- 45 seconds of honing, took a razor knife and scraped off the crud on the stone face and rinse the stones in a bucket of warm soapy water. Dawn dish soap works great! Just spin the stones in the soap water. Take a air hose and dry the stones and check for gunk on stone surface. You should be able to see the grit in the stone face if it is clean. I found a clean stone cuts quicker and leaves a better hatch mark in the cylinder. I did have some wear on the stones when I finished, but there's enough stone left to do several more engines! Word of caution...the plastic retaining collar is probably the weak point and could easily break if the stones hit the journals in the bottom of the cylinder.

Good value for the money
I used to hone out an Ingersoll Rand compressor pump. Product appears to be well manufactured and the stones were straight, uniform and cut well. I used WD-40 as the lubricant while I was deglazing the cylinders. Worked great for my needs especially at this price point. Yes, I would buy this product again.

Worked flawlessly
Made by lisle so you know it's good. These work better than dingleberry style hone. Would reccomend.

Worked perfectly
Used WD-40 as a lube, and about 15 strokes. Could easily see low spots, then put a set of 320 stones on it and gave a few licks for a finish pass. Just what the Dr. ordered and way better than a dingle ball.
