After 5 months, finally getting around to testing
Initially I was going to return this as my procrastination prevented me from even testing if it worked. After finally buying a POE splitter I can confirm it does. It's only 10/100, which I don't even remember if I had read that, but for my needs gigabit is not even an option for me right now. I'm in a rural area using lte for my internet (and communication) needs. I have a few devices for this, but one in particular is the only one that works indoors, the rest have to be placed outside, which gives me constant anxiety. This injector is allowing me to place things outside, in a protected box, without the need of an extension cord that runs the length of my home just inviting the for a disaster in of itself. I placed a weatherproof box outside, installed an lte device attached to a poe splitter, ran a concealed cable inside straight to this plug. Viola, power! My speeds are criminally low, but so much better reception outside, and my internal network is run by other devices so speed isn't an issue on lan. Things I can't speak to: Speed- it works great for my rural needs. Power- it provides just enough to run a netgear M1, but nothing else (attached a travel router to the M1 and it didn't receive any power. To be honest, I can't remember if it does on a regular plug) The 48v thing?- This goes to a poe splitter that apparently handles that. Overall, a good choice for simple devices. Low footprint is definitely a plus.

These are 48V POE injector 802.3af
They work fine for standard 48v POE devices. You can't use it for 24v devices, there are other POE Plugs for that, just search it and you will find. The difference is simple; the 802.3af/at standard requires the port to test for power requirement BEFORE applying power, as such, power is NOT always available at the port. Passive POE is not really 802.3af/at compliant because it allows for power to be present at the port at all times. I prefer the safeguard of "test before application" so I never use passive POE for mission critical devices like AP's or VOIP Phones, Security Cams, etc. In fact, for my commercial and industrial installations I ONLY use 48v POE devices that are 802.3af/at compliant and refrain from passive application of power. I use these specific Plugs for quick replacement of manufacturer POE injectors which have failed and cannot be replaced easily overnight or fast ship. I keep 48v and 24v models on the shelf.

Works perfectly with a Polycom POE Desk Phone
I work from home and my employer gave me a very nice Polycom desk phone to use with a Fuze VOIP system. The phone didn't come with an AC adapter, but does support power over Ethernet. This POE injector is compact and relatively inexpensive so I figured I'd give it a shot. Happy to report that it works perfectly -- the phone rebooted a couple of times, downloaded some updates, and has worked perfectly since day 1. This injector is a great value for the price.

Great for quick POE power
Great if you need just POE power. I used mine to hide the alexa hub power from my attic to behind the wall for a cleaner look

Lasted just over three years
I bought one of these (same brand & looks identical) from another listing on Amazon just over three years ago. April of 2022. It died just recently. The light stays on but it no longer sends power over ethernet. I never tested the data. 3 years isn't bad for the price. This is a separate listing but the same brand so I'm expecting similar performance.

These PoE injectors are great value, and work great.
I have like 4 or 5 of these now, keep coming back to them when I need a simple power injector, I am using these with CCTV cameras, IP phones, and access points. I finally had one of these bite the dust, but at no fault of its own, it was completely submerged under water in a basement flood. The fact it took that to kill it, I am going to keep coming back for more of these.

Actual quality part. I was surprised because I'd just bought it because I needed the cheapest PoE injector to test network cameras. You can feel by the weight of this unit that it's not junk, plus it has a nice green LED on it to indicate it has AC power.
