The husband lost his hearing aid...not read to invest in a new one. He has hearing only in one ear. This is working great for him. It does require finding the right adjustment and in some situations it amplifies the background noise too much, but for the price its amazing!

This product can save you a bunch of money. Remember when you were a kid and you went to the beach. You picked up a conch shell, put it to your ear, and enjoyed the sound of the ocean. Now you need not pay for those trips to the ocean anymore. Just by this NewEar put it on and enjoy the sound of the ocean. Oh but not just any ocean - no siree - an enhanced and loud ocean. Of course, understanding what others are saying or what you are watching on TV may be a problem - but what the heck - you get the ocean for free. Well - not quite free - after all you did pay for this piece of junk!!

After having this NewEar enhancer for a week, I find I can't live without it. It's light weight, unnoticeable behind your ear, and I only need it set on medium to hear perfectly.I definately recommend this product.

$2-3,000 or more is the normal price of a hearing aid. One I can't pay. So, having the AARP hearing test on the phone and having some diminished hearing in one ear, I purchased this NewEar. Hearing loss is associated with causing dementia and keeping what remains of the brain is a priority.I love every single thing about the NewEar Hearing Amplifier, except that it can't get wet. When our monsoons come, this will not be good. I live in fear of turning on the shower with it in my ear or stepping out into the rains which can be like diving into a lake, glub glub.This helps me hear better and is sufficient to my needs under $20. That's pretty amazing. The way it's packaged, the detailed instructions, everything else about it are superb. I had some trouble understanding inserting batteries as someone with less than no mechanical intelligence and ADHD on top of it, but even I--gasp--was able to change the batteries after initial angst. Pretty amazing for the price. I recommend it.

Both better price and design than the ones sold by Walmart. Enough power for my sizeable hearing loss. I really like being able to set it for tone as I hear best in the lower ones. Have ordered another set as dratted chihuahua got hold of them chewed off the ear mold and caused one to disappear completely! Can add to this, much better than what Walmart sells. Can hear on phone again. I have a major hearing loss, cannot converse without aids. Ordered earmold making kit from Midway. Got a pair of the thin tubes used in bte aids and put in middle of silicone then tucked into my ears. great fit, better sound than the little tips provided. Will soon order another set to have as spares.

I believe the device would be beneficial for most people with impaired hearing, however with my type of hearing loss they did not help me.

I got this as a gift for my 95 year old grandfather. He has expensive hearing aids, but won't wear them for some reason. I think they are uncomfortable for him. We just received this amplifier today and he hasn't stopped smiling since we put it on him. He says that he can "hear a pin drop across the room now". No more blaring television or screaming in our house from now on! What a bargain!
