To be honest I didn't eat oranges often because there are easier fruits to eat. But my husband asked if I could pack him oranges in his lunch since he's eating better. I said no problem, but after 2 days I started looking for a tool to help. Got these for a cheap price, and have really liked how much easier they make things for me. They slide pretty easily between the peel and fruit flesh then I take a dull butter knife and use it to get any remaining left behind white rind off. I can easily peel an orange to clean segments in a couple minutes now.

It's obvious what you use a pocket calender for.Citrus peelers are for revolving stock as they don't last for ever. Well see how these last in comparison..

Long ago, a door-to-door sales company offered orange peelers as a premium added to your order. These little gadgets weren't available for sale anywhere. I lost mine when we moved, and every winter when oranges appeared in the stores, grieved.Then I saw these little beauties here on Amazon. Oh joy! Yes! They aren't exactly the same, but they work just the same. You just run the sharp edge all the way around the outside of the orange once, and then again at right angles (I do it four times, as if marking segments. Then you slide the curved end under the peel at the top, and voila, the peel comes right off. It's amazing.Just rinse the gadget off, dry it, and pop it back in the drawer for next time. No more painful bits of orange peel under your fingernails. It's fast, easy and one of my favorite kitchen toys.

I bought some other ones recently. When they arrive I knew I had made a mistake. They were very cheaply made and didn't score deep enough. I was replacing one that I'd had for year that was wonderful. It finally broke (they don't last forever - they are plastic). I then decided to find one that was as close to my original one as possible - this is definitely it. It arrived today and looks, feels and peels like the original. I'm sure this will last several years and then I'll have to search again...These are a bit more expensive than I would have thought. I think I paid 49 cents for my original one...

I bought this because I was tired of peeling oranges with my fingers. I was tired of my nails getting discolored and my fingers smelling of citrus (although that wasn't so bad). I bought it and washed it right away to use it. It works beautifully! Its so easy to do. I'm mad at myself for not buying this sooner!

These are really well designed, and stay sharp after pealing hundreds (yes 100's) of oranges.
