Works great as is. It keeps the leaves and small sticks from clogging the return line to the filter bc of two 90 degree bends. Im impressed. Then I took two small spa filters and taped them together, taped a small plastic disk cut from the bottom of a bleach jug to one end and put it in the basket and just put it back together. So the open end goes to the suction side and the water from the pool cleaner attachment thats sucking the finer stuff from the bottom the pool after the leaves etc are gone gets pre filtered before it gets to my Big Hayward cartridge filters. This way I won't have to pull them and rinse as ofter. I imagine if you have a sand or DE filter it will save a ton of back washing. Priceless lol. Its not perfect but its pretty good!

Great for summer opening pulling loads of leaves. Easy to install, inline with hose, easy to empty.

Works great, traps leaves keeping them from going into the main filter. Easy to empty. The attachment had to be modified by tape to stay connected.

Attached this on the hose for our pool vacuum. Keeps larger debris out of the filter basket. Easy to open and empty when the vacuum is done.

It looks neat. The easiness of application is good enough. But its suction function is not good and cover broke after using it for less than ten times.

Works great! Helps with all the leaves and hair before it reaches the filter. Highly recommend.

Seemed great at first - so inexpensive and easy to use... BUT within 6 months I noticed a loss in suction which was affecting the whole system and making noisy air pocket sounds. Turns out the gasket (a very thin white rubber piece) had deteriorated. Could not find a replacement anywhere and am not handy enough to make my own. It's worth it to get the real Hayward brand canister - the rubber gasket on that is very thick and sturdy, and when they stretch out, the replacement gaskets are cheap and readily available!

This canister is durable and plastic basket traps debris. I gave it 3 stars because it is not air tight around the seal and it is very hard to close cap. I tried using grease around seal as suggested but doesnt make a big difference. Im currently looking for a better one to replace this.
