Good light, even though listed specs aren't correct.
So this is a very small AA light that's very bright with a 14500. I like that it starts on low, and has no blinky modes. The LED color is not cool white like listed on the manufacturers website. It seems more like a neutral white especially on the lower modes, but I like neutral LEDs so it doesn't bother me. There is also a rosy colored ring around the edges of the beam, I believe this is from the AR coating on the glass.I'm comparing this light to a Thorfire TG06S, and although the Thorfire is rated lower in output (500 lumen vs 600 with a 14500 or 150 lumen vs 220 with a AA) The Ultratac isn't as bright as the Thorfire. So I believe the specs for the A1 are inflated. The LED in mine isn't quite centered, there is a visible gap at one side.I like the build quality and the size. I like the knurling on the A1 better than the Thorfire.Other reviewers have mentioned buying more than one of these, and ending up with different LED tints. I wonder if the LED being used was changed recently, like a 3A instead of the 1A they claim to use. That would explain the warmer tint and less lumen output. The 1A would be much cooler white and a bit brighter. I have included an image of the Ultratac vs my Lumintop AAA tool for tint comparison, the Lumintop is a very cool white.EDIT: The new "Ultratac A1 V2" has changed the LED from a Cree XPL to what appears to be a 6500k Luminus SST-20. The new LED is very noticeably cat puke green tinted at lower settings and is only really a "cool white" when on the highest setting. The new LED has a tighter beam, and looks good on the highest setting with AA, or on the med and high when using 14500.Ultratac has a nice light here, but honestly I think they should stick a Cree XPL-HI in this light for the tighter beam and no weird green tint on the lower settings.

Great little flashlight for the money
It is what I it is, and it isn't what it isn't. As long as you are clear on what you are buying, it meets all expectations. What it is: a relatively small and simple flashlight that puts out enough light to light up a room, navigate a path on foot, investigate a creepy sound in the woods behind your tent, look for your car keys when you drop them, etc. What it's not: A "tactical" self-defense tool that will blind and disorient a mugger or that ninja you found behind your aforementioned tent.I'm entertained by the glow-in-the-dark gimmick, but have no faith that I will have it handy when the opportunity to use it presents itself. If I did need about half a lumen and want to preserve battery, and I did have it on me (which means I'm standing next to my sock drawer) I'm sure I will be grateful for it.I may update this review later, after I go take a care of this creepy ninja!

This light is a dream come true!
I love this flashlight, you can’t go wrong with this. I like that it’s small and can work with any single AA battery, but the rechargeable battery that comes with it Is so much better and brighter. The diffuser cap it comes with is a genius addition, it turns it into a lantern that can light up a room. You can also keep it on the opposite end when not using it and still use the on/off button and use it to bite on to free your hands when you need both to work with. Not only that, it glows in the dark so you can easily find it in the dark. The clip on the light can also be reversed so you can use it as a headlamp on your hat brim. I keep this light in my pocket all the time, and I also bought one for everyone in my family for Christmas.

Simple, decent light. AA (3.2V or 1.2V) platform.
Overall, it's a decent light for the money. I like the geometry of the light based on the AA battery platform and that's why I ordered it. It is about equal to my 400 lumen Olight S1 Mini on High mode using the provided USB rechargeable AA 3.2V Li battery. About 1/3 the brightness on a standard alkaline AA, but it works in a pinch if your battery dies. The things I don't like about it (I'm comparing it to my Olight S1 Mini in this case):-No Memory of last setting.-Doesn't seem as waterproof and I'm not willing to try it (tub dunk) with no reputable company standing behind the warranty-Only ONE battery provided and these 3.2V Li AA batteries are a bit hard to find even on the internet.-For the price, I would buy the Olight S1 Mini with two batteries (about $40 on Amazon) over this.Still giving it 4 stars because, by itself, it's a good light and I gave it to my daughter. The battery/light does not discharge over time (not noticeable) and the light is ready to go after months of storage. Had to test this recently after a drunk driver knocked power out to our neighborhood the other night. Many flashlights were used and this and the Olight ran all night as needed.

6 month of EDC
I have carried this light every day for six months clipped to my left front pocket. Not a complaint of any kind so far. For a small but effective light it is wonderful. Small enough I do carry it 100% of the time, easy to hold in my mouth for two-hand jobs. No problems recharging. The glow cap works GREAT when you only need a little light but in a wider area as a defuser. We have chickens and I have closed up the coops with this light most nights. I will get another as a back-up. I haven't put it to a duration test, but I haven't "run out" of light when needed in six months - so that's pretty good and obviously suits my needs.

This flashlight is awesome. A bargain at 3x the price.
I honestly cant believe I only paid 16 dollars for this flashlight. Using the 14500 batteries this thing is BRIGHT. It feels very high quality and sturdy. The waterproof rating is legitimate. I take it with me everywhere, It instantly became part of my EDC. It is worth mentioning, and I wouldnt necessarily call this a con or a downside, if your are using a 14500 and the max brightness setting it will get fairly warm and the glass will get hot. Just be aware of it and you will be fine. Seriously get one of these if you are an EDC guy or a flashlight guy, or if you need an awesome flashlight that isnt expensive.

Bright Flashlight
Love, Love this little flashlight! Husband purchased 1, was so bright, yet so small, and BONUS, no batteries needed, has rechargeable battery. Finally decided to purchase my own, use it for EVERYTHING, including walking dog @ night. Flashlight is lightweight and very small, yet packs the power/brightness as any size flashlight.
