Workbook for Introduction to Composite Materials Design: THIRD edition
R**O
Clear and practical presentation of problems for engineering analysis and design of composites
The workbook is an essential companion to the Third Edition of the textbook "Introduction to Composite Materials Design." I've used both the textbook and the workbook in my introductory graduate class on composites design. The problems in the workbook allow students to progressively build their own analysis and design computational tools (for example, with Matlab). and also to validate them using the design environment software CADEC, which is available free to all academic users (students and faculty). In particular, CADEC is organized into a well-structured material database (called My Documents) and a set of multi-level equation solvers (called Chapters) with efficient visualization and Excel outputs, which parallel the chapters in both the textbook and workbook. There are many textbooks on composite materials, however, Barbero's suite of a textbook with a companion workbook and a design environment (CADEC) is unique with regard to clear and practical presentation of essential mechanics content for engineering analysis and design.

Accessible and practical workbook for learning composites basics
Dr. Barbero's workbook is filled with practical examples of composite materials applications, and uses well-sourced material properties and other resources to demonstrate solutions to real-world problems. The material spans industrial, infrastructure, and aerospace applications, making the workbook a valuable addition to any practitioner's collection. Students especially can benefit, since the types of problems contained in the workbook covers the gamut of introductory composites concepts.
