The Shipping came within a day with prime shipping and the book was shrink wrapped as well. Came in perfect condition. Also would like to mention that its just beautiful to look at! One of the nicest cover arts for any manga I've seen so far!As for the Manga, this has to be one of my most favorite. I grew up watching Naruto as a kid and got into the anime manga scene growing up. Of all kinds of mangas that have come and went, this definitely is in my top 3. Btooom! is about people who were chosen and elected by their loved ones to "suffer the ultimate punishment" because they had each committed something wrong in the past.They are pitted in an island, in which they must play and compete to collect "chips" which can only be taken after killing the opponent. Collecting a certain amount will grant you freedom. Through all these murderous attempts, Sakamoto and Himiko team up in sight of actually working together to get off the island rather then using violence. Its a cute romantic relationship between the two as they begin to bond and work together. The range of characters on the island is vast and unique. Whats really lovely about the anime/manga is that the author will begin to have a character grow on you and attached, but isn't afraid of killing them off. This creates a more emotional manga compared to the always cheerful and happy generic ones out there.The manga itself acknowledges a problem in society of how large and powerful corporations have become. It displays the fear of what can become: a society dictated by a market power. It's just a mixture of action, comedy, cute romance, and even dark twisted graphic scenes. Its a beautiful work of art, and I wish more people would give it a try. It could possibly be your next favorite manga and anime!

I am always torn as to whether I should watch the anime or read the manga first. (When both are available.) What works for me is to watch the anime first. It's less expensive and I might only have to invest about 6 hours of my time to discover if it was worth it. And if I like the voices in the anime that's how I hear the characters. Then I'll read the manga to fill in the details that are frequently left out of the anime for time consideration. If I read the manga first I'm always thinking "Why did they leave out the part where..." in the anime. While there isn't a lot of 'fleshing out' in these books I still found it to be worth the purchase. (And you see a little of the people behind the 'game'.) The drawing is quite detailed. If you liked the anime I recommend this series. If you're on the fence as to which way to go, I would say buy the manga. The stories are more complete and you can enjoy them at your own pace. (The first season of the anime is covered in volumes 1-8.)

It's a shame this manga isn't more popular, but as a huge fan I'm really happy it's getting such a good English release. Anyone who has enjoyed the first 4 volumes should obviously pick this up as well. This particular volume takes the spotlight off of Ryouta for most of it, and delves into Himiko's character for the first time. You learn how she got on the island and why she acts the way she does. This is the thickest volume yet and the artworks is as stunning as always. I HIGHLY recommend this series to fans of series such as Battle Royale, Gantz, and Attack on Titan. Btooom is a brutal story, but it's addictive, fast paced, and well written as well.

Huge fan of the series loved the anime and loved the manga too. Will buy more as soon as they bring them out. Epic story and epic characters a must read.
