This bunkie board is well made and was the perfect solution to raising my mattress on my bed frame. Placed it right on top of the frame's wooden slats and now, no more scraped knuckles/fingers when changing my sheets! It's the little things LOL.

These boards made big improvement to my new memory foam mattress. I used my existing box spring as the base. While I really liked the mattress, I felt like I needed a firmer mattress. I almost returned the mattress until I decided to try these boards. Wow. What a difference! I am very impressed. I'm so glad I gave these a try. These particular boards weren't the cheapest or the most expensive but as far as I'm concerned they do the job well. The boards are covered and haven't damaged my mattress cover. I also like the rounded corners. They fit well, stay in place, and the mattress does not slide around on top of them. Now my new mattress is a keeper and I am really enjoying it.

Definitely unpack and leave outside for a few hours if possible, this off-gassed when I unpacked it. Works well for its intended purpose!

This was advertised as a 1.5" thick SOLID WOOD Bunkie Board/Mattress Support. This is not a solid wood unit, though there are some pieces of solid wood (as opposed to particle board) in it. There is a 3" wide x 1.5" thick wood frame around the perimeter of the unit and a single 3" x .75" slat running from top to bottom. It has slats running from side to side measuring 1.5" x .75" and spaced at about 11" apart. The whole unit is wrapped in cloth similar to what you would find on a box spring, and it feels like there is a 1/4" thick piece of corrugated cardboard under the cloth on the side that faces the mattress. This was apparently designed to be used only with a rigid bunk bed style mattress, because I cannot imagine that this would be strong enough to handle a person's weight if it were used with a regular mattress, since the slats are very thin and there is nothing but cardboard spanning the 11" distance between the slats.Admittedly, I am not an expert on beds, and perhaps this type of construction is normal for a bunkie board, but if the seller had taken the time to offer a clear description of what was being offered for sale, I could have avoided purchasing something that did not meet my needs and then having to return it. I am giving this product a one-star review, but if the seller will update the description so other buyers will not make the same mistake I did, I will upgrade the rating to 5 stars.

Needed a mattress frame for a metal frame that was spaced to far apart for my memory foam mattress. It worked perfect, well made . Definitely would recommend.

Recently got a new mattress and box springs and it was so tall I needed a step ladder to get in bed! I researched and learned about a bunkie board! A bunkie board is great it's only 2 inches tall and much better than a 9 inch tall box springs. THE bunkie board is great and not too thick I can get in and out of bed without a step stool! I can highly recommend the quality of this bunkie board and I will never go back to a box springs again!

The information provided on this item by Amazon indicates that this item consists of one piece. What was delivered was two pieces that lie side by side on the bed frame. That said, for my purposes two pieces do the job as well as one would. I have and antique bed frame. On this frame the elevation of the mattress supporter is higher than on modern bed frames. I bought a new mattress. New mattresses are much thicker than old ones. The height of my bed frame plus the height of a standard mattress support plus the height of the new mattress made the elevation of the bed stupidly high. This product supports the mattress at a more standard lower height. Two pieces work just fine. It's just that the information provided by Amazon was wrong.
