A must have book for baby.
I have been reading this book for well over 20 years. I was nanny for several children, every single one of them loved this book, now that I’m about to become a great grandmother,my newest little Blessing will get to enjoy this book too.

Great book
Great book. The first book to depict a black child as the main character.

Every child should have this book
To me, this is the ultimate picture book. If you were only to buy one picture book ever for your house, class or library, it would be this one. The story is simple but timeless. The collage illustrations are beautiful. It seems a story just begging to be written and utterly universal, yet at the time (1962), Ezra Jack Keats choosing to use a non-white child to centre his story on was a radical choice, The Snowy Day is widely seen as the first picture book with a black child as its hero. Why? Well, as the author said, “my book would have him there simply because he should have been there all along.”

Ok
It is a nice simple story, nothing special. The book does not have rhymes which capture young children more. My one and a half toddler is not very interested in this book yet. But I will keep offering it to him in the future. It is a nice book to have in a child's bookshelf for them to connect with nature, in this case, snow.

wonderful
What a wonderful book! The story of a little boy who wakes up on a snow day and makes his first encounters with the snow, by creating different traces on the ground and keeping a snowball in his pocket to play with the next day. Children who went outside on a snow day will remember their adventures and adults will be reminded of their childhood. It is a wonderful book about discoveries and a creative little mind.

Would not recommend
Ok but was expecting more, some of the storyline feels unfinished, the last page i was hoping to he a continuation of the story but in fact it was just the end-i feel like i am missing something with all the rave reviews about this book🤷♀️ Would not recommend.

Gorgeous book
I bought this for my baby nephew to build his book collection, he lives in Singapore and has never seen snow. Shallow creature that i am, i liked the pretty pictures. But this simple book is so much more than it's gorgeous illustrations. Published in 1962, it's "One of the first picture books for young children to portray a realistic, multicultural urban setting." I plan on collecting the rest of Peter's stories.
