I am very impressed with this cafetiere. I've been using a cheap plastic one and to be fair it has been very good but it cracked at the bottom so I needed a new one because I love my coffee. I ruled out the glass ones for obvious reasons and chose this one. It really is very good and I am impressed with the quality and it looks good on my worktop. I can get 2 mugs filled to the max line and it stays hot for about an hour. I love the little mini container though I'm unsure what to use it for as it is very small. I'm now looking at the Gator containers and will be buying some in the near future.

Having decided instant coffee wasn’t for me any longer, I bought this on the strength that the filter jug looked sturdy, easy to clean and simple to use. And so it is! It comes with a neat little glass container with a metal lid to hold a small amount of coffee grounds.The first test was accidentally bashing the side on the tap on the way to the washing up water. Not a mark or a dint, thankfully but not to be advised!! It stands well and feels good in the hand, very well-balanced and easy to pour the coffee out with no drips in the saucer. The instructions were easy to understand although I did find finding the ideal water level a bit of a test (but the instructions say you should find the ideal settings to fit your own taste so that’s fair enough). The coffee tasted excellent and as I’d warmed the jug up prior to using it, the coffee stayed hot for two leisurely cups and a biscuit.The jug and filter were washed up without any drama. Very easy to clean and reassemble ready for the next time.Love this filter jug!!

Coffee has never tasted so good,it stays warm enough for a second cup, it doesn't leak when you pour the Coffee out. It's easy to clean, it's a perfect weight so feels balanced while pouring. And the biggest plus I can't smash it like the glass ones it's really well made and will hopefully last years.

This is great: sturdy, keeps the coffee hot for a while BUT (!) I got the grey colour and after a while the colour coating on the outside starts peeling off. So you end up with a mangy looking pot for a fair while until all that colour coating has come off and you’re left with a stainless steel one. Which is fine, but had I known I would have just gone for the plain steel one in the first place….instead I have little grey flakes on my kitchen counter. But as a cafetière it’s the best!!! Buy it!

I chose this because I’m always breaking the glass French press jugs. This one is perfect, very stylish colour and shape and great value. Keeps the coffee hot for ages. Just great for four cups and pours well and obviously unbreakabke!

This is a great French Press. Well-made and robust, I have had several of the glass type presses, but these have all smashed.I also used to wrap a T-Towel around the glass type to try and keep it warm, but no such task required with this press as it keeps my coffee nice and warm for a long time....perfect!

Update: Initially had some issues with my coffee maker, but the customer service was very friendly and sorted it out quickly.I bought this one after I managed to break yet another glass press and got tired of looking for a replacement that I would drop again sooner or later.The Coffee Gator Coffee Maker is "just" an ordinary French press and I guess there is only so much you can expect it to do, but surprisingly I find it's often the simplest products that are plagued by poor design choices and annoying flaws. Not this one. It might be pricier than your average French press, but it's extremely robust and feels like a well-made quality product in your hands. So if you break 3 glass presses per year like me, the price point becomes relative. In the end I also like the idea of supporting a company that focuses on one thing they are passionate about and tries to do them right. Oh, and their customer service is very responsive and friendly, too. The only thing is that the small coffee canister it comes with is too tiny to be of any practical use, but I guess you can use it for sugar or something else. At least it's pretty, and it's free.Good:- Looks like it's unbreakable- Sleek design: The matte finish looks and feels great- Insulated walls keep coffee warm: mine was still hot after 10 minutes- Easy to pour, no dripping- No silt in my cup so far - the mesh keeps the coffee sludge where it should be- Very easy to cleanBad:- Nothing really

Gator cafetière, is well designed has a good weight and filter system appears faultless so far!Coffee keeps hot for well past the steeping time, haven’t tested heat retention as I drink coffee too quickly.Although the Gator brand is pricier than some - it’s definitely worth the extra cost as looks fabulous, holds up to 1ltr and so far appears very robust. Cleans very well although haven’t tried in dishwasher as am afraid logo will disappear.The free supplied pot, presumably for beans is way too small; however is made from solid glass with a metal and plastic lid.I would definitely recommend this filter press to any serious coffee lover. My coffee tastes every bit as good when compared to my neighbours very expensive well known brands! The process is a little longer on the brewing side and so much quieter. Coupled with a manual electronic hand frother, the Gator comes up trumps.
