Love this product...... doesn't stick & works great.My batter recipe:3 cups Milk3 cups Flour3 Eggs3/4 cups Sugar1 tablespoon Vanilla Extractpinch SaltAdd Milk Eggs Sugar Vanilla Salt to blender mix well and start adding the Flour( I sifted the flour to eliminate lumps) works great and tastes delicious deep fry and sprinkle with Sugar & Cinnamon Powder... its a well made product. Used it a few times. You will need to perfect the batter but wait until you have made a few cookies first to see if its a problem. Frequently the first cookie does not come out well and it takes a couple to get the mold working properly. Once it is, you can adjust the batter to be thinner or thicker to suite your preferences. Also the thickness of the batter has a lot to do with how easily the cookie drops off the mold. If you dunk it into the hot oil and instantly see the batter pull away from the mold, thats a good sign. IF it stays right there at the mold, its needing adjusting. Probably a little thicker. Just add flour in small amounts.

Get your oil at 425 degrees, make sure you bring this mold up to the SAME temperature as the oil.It really helps to move this tool using left and right and up and down motions when dunking in the oil. It helps start the release from the mold.One more thing that I find very important. Use enough oil in your pan. I find the oil level needs to be at least 1 1/2 to 2 inches deep.Don't ask me why, I have no answer, it makes no sense. BUT and less depth and I can't get the waffles to release good and they don't cook the same. I use vegetable oil by the way.

The Hummingbird Rosette was among several that we ordered. Although it was one of the first I picked out to buy, it was the one that doesn't turn out very well. When the cookie is all done, the whole body looks great, except the head and beak, which look too large. The people who didn't know what it was couldn't tell what the cookies were supposed to be be. The rest of the Rosettes that we ordered turned out great, so I don't believe we did anything wrong. : ) I do think it would make a lovely ornament though. lol

This rosette was so easy to use and clean up too. The metal was very smooth and design cutout done well.

I made this for a child party, the theme was spider man, as soon I arrive with my rosettes, all kids went to me to have "one little spider" by the time they cut the cake all the rosettes were gone, I made around 200 of them!!Ps. This little spiders are about the size of an adult hand palm. I would like to insert a pic but I'm new in this and don't know how to add it.

This is a nice set! (heirloom set) I was a little shocked how big they are...I know it said large, but being used to my old set of rosette irons, I thought big was smaller than this. It's going to make some beautiful, large rosettes...and is excellent quality. Planning to order more shapes later, since these are so nice. Highly recommend this set!
