I bought this hat-gaiter combination because i take a walk every afternoon and when it's cold i want something around my neck and over my face sometimes, and on my head. This piece fits the bill. It's stretchy and light. Probably would be too light for skiing, but is perfect for 30 degree walks with wind. Only thing I have a problem with is that when I put it up over my nose my glasses fog up, but we're all used to fogged up glasses because of pandemic masks, aren't we? Hat is connected in the back to the gaiter, by the way. Very easy to put on.

I have over a dozen balaclava and other combination hat,scarf and neck warmers. I have bought from lightweight to heavyweight. (and from very expensive to very inexpensive) This one is perfect for almost any time in the winter. Fit,comfort and breathability is perfect. It works for me down to the teens. It is a middle weight for warm. If it is about 40 degrees or more it can get a little hot. It is a little bulky but can fit in any decent size coat pocket. I have used it for several months and it is still in great condition.

This is a good additional layer. I use this for walking the dog and running/jogging in Midwestern winter weather. Not super warm, but breathable. Pros: Very comfortable and lightweight. Versatile - even without the hat or gaiter up, it serves to very comfortably keep your neck warm. The hat part actually covers my ears enough to keep the wind out, which some hats are too small to do. The best part is its adjustability - you can easily put it up over your face when it’s windy and pull it down when you’re in warmer areas. The toggle to tighten the gaiter is easy to adjust, even while wearing it. Cons/Considerations: it’s not remotely water-resistant, so I’m curious to see how this will work in snowstorms. Warmth: not sure how you’d add insulation yet keep this breathable, but this is not super warm. For really cold temps, I’d prefer something heartier than this single-ply fabric. Wind does come in all around my cheeks/nose. Also, while this is very soft, it’s not Sherpa-lined (or lined at all) or fuzzy inside as you might expect from “fleece”.

I bought this for my son who is in a midwestern college, which means its cloudy and cold. He walks to his classes and said this was perfect for those really cold days.

I have an average sized head for a female and have a lot of thick hair, but the hat part of this balaclava was much too big for my head. Also, the stitching on the hat at the top of the crown makes odd points in the fabric, so if your head size doesn't completely fill out the hat you're left with little points on your head. Not a great look, so I returned it. The fleece felt nice though and it overall seemed to be good quality for the money.

I used this for only a few minutes to go outside and check my property once the worst of the bomb cyclone cold front had moved in. Excellent coverage and I especially like that the bottom part has a cord to adjust it to prevent it from falling when you need the coverage.Kept my neck and face warm in 10 degree (F) windy weather but I wasn't out for more than 15 minutes.

Cute and warmAlthough it does get a little wet around your mouth…it still kept me warm

Was excited to get my kid to try this since he loves this style but once he tried it he said that it gets wet very easily and doesn’t keep him warm. Was disappointed , not really worth the money in my opinion
