great for teenage boys
I have teenage boys and they LOVE the CHERUB series. They never got turned on to the Harry Potter phenomena but as action oriented guys they really glommed on to these books. I have to yell at them to stop reading once they get going on one of these. Now that's a nice problem to have! If you have having trouble getting your boys to read by all means give this series a go.

I have read all of the Cherub books and they are a very good series but they have a lot of slang and rude words. Otherwise great book would highly recommend it to people at the age of 10-15 years.

Good book, kind of confusing.
It was a really confusing book but the storyline was great. It finally made sense about half way through. If you read this book, just tough it out until it gets interesting. Because it's so amazing!

No clear connection to the Vol. 1 characters
Haven’t read it yet so I reserve the right to change my review. It appears that a whole new cast of characters is introduced but nothing about the fates of the Vol. 1 characters appear to be included, disappointing.

New Adventure
It was difficult adjusting to new characters but as always the author takes you in, and you become engrossed turning page after page in anticipation.

Peoples Republic Review from V
I love Cherub and Roberts brilliant ideas. I was afraid that series two would be a let down but although It is different and all the characters have changed it's still a great book to read. Very dramatic and emotional. Great for outgoing teenagers.READ THIS BOOK

My son thinks that this is the best book he has ever read
My son thinks that this is the best book he has ever read. It actually was the first books he has ever read all of the way through and I was thrilled.

Doesn't disappoint CHERUB fans
I'm a huge fan of the CHERUB series and I've started reading the spin off series, Henderson's boys, too. I started reading these books when I was in high school and I've been following them ever since, albeit slowly. While I finished CHERUB a while back, I've yet to catch up on the other two series, including this one. This book definitely wasn't disappointing. It had all of the traits I've grown to love from Muchamore, especially his sense of humour. While you can expect lots of action and suspense from his reads, the humour is what separates them from other books featuring a plot based on espionage.I will mention, as is the case with a lot of series, that CHERUB holds a special place in my heart. I followed those characters for a long time, so to be reading about the same place and some of the same supporting characters, I missed James terribly. I couldn't help but compare Ryan to James and how he first behaved on the same campus with the same teachers. This book seemed to be a lot more plot driven than the CHERUB books. The other series focused a lot on James and his character development and for a 12 year old, Ryan seemed a lot more mature than James did in the beginning. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, it just gave the book a different feel to the other series and made it stand out quite a bit. It wasn't more of the same stuff.I'm definitely interested to see what happens with this whole Aramov clan - it was interesting to find out that one mission will carry on across a few books.

Back and swinging hard
I Loved the last Cherub Series, but I was quite unsure about a new series, purely because I had grown up with James along for the ride (so to speak)Muchamore has done a great job in the past of expressing characters of different ages.Compare the young impulsive James from book 1 to the Young adult we saw at the end of the series.I was worried he might not be able to jump back to the shoes of a young 11 year old.But he has done just that. I keeping with the darker settings of his later works we are thrown into the life of a Orphan in China who is desperate to escape. The book follows her desperate struggle to survive before at the end bringing her to Cherub.Opposed to the last series where James ends up in Cherub off the bat, Ning (the new girl) has to fight, lie and steal just to get herself to that position.A couple cameo appearances from well known faces helps remind us that the series is all part of the same world. It would be nice for the series to make a couple references back to previous books and perhaps wrap up a few more loose ends.I wait eagerly for the next book to see where it takes us.

great book...
This book is very good, the storyline is solid and the characters are well thought out but to understand the background you need to read the first series. I recommend this book as 11+Being a 12 year old boy myself I think that the book is suitable for 11+ wouldn't read this with my family because of some language used. However my school library recommended these books for the secondary school year 7 but these cherub books are a good read for some older people as wellI give this book a 5/5

Made Me Start Reading!
I was never a kid who read I hated it, I would always play on a device before bed but know I read. YES this book turned a 13 year old boy who never read into someone who had to be told to stop reading and go to sleep. i would recommend this series to anyone who hates reading. I would read the first book "the recruit" to read first as the books would make a lot more sense!
