Jamstik 7 Smart Guitar

Android /windows user friendly!!! To see the Jamstik in action at my gig find me on the WWW thuy musique. I was apprehensive prior to purchase being an android /windows user, however, the app works great on Huawei pro 20 mate, update the Jamstik on google using the Jamstik website first . Works on my windows 10 laptop with my DAWs, which are incidentally Reaper and Pro-tools. Midi controls my Roland Cloud VST and other VST like a dream, amazing for playing pads and chords. It is the perfect size since I carry a lot of gear to gigs and taking a full size guitar as well as my other gear, the Jamstick covers keys guitar and a myriad of other instruments. The company are incredible at support and go above and beyond to help. Shout out to customer services they are stars.

I cannot believe it it 2019 and there still isn't a usable midi guitar on the market. Unboxed this and plugged it into Ableton. Plug and play everything was ready to go, but no. Unusable. Ghost notes, notes not triggering. A complete mess. Back in the box and returned same day.

This is not a straight out of the box piece of kit and needs quite a few hours tweaking settings to get it just right. Once adapted to your playing style it functions well and allows me to play ‘piano’ in a way I couldn’t using s keyboard.The strap is essential if you want to play it comfortably as it’s shape makes it difficult to hold and play. The extensions may help here but I don’t have them.The version I got had no usb lead but the support from the manufacturer was excellent and one was shipped out - from the US!It’s found a place in my studio and has been used on a new track with great effect.

Good learning tool for a beginner like me.I also like the fact that you can start right away because theres no need to tune it.It works well with my phone.My only gripe so far is that it didnt work with my laptop...but it's old & I need a new one anyway. 😁

As a guitar player looking for a cost effective travel guitar this is a disappointment. Poor tactile response to the player ghost notes and a general lack of musicality. It may evolve as time goes by, but I cannot recommend it at this time sadly.

Unfortunately the sound does play on every string when strummed and it's not great sorry

A great idea for a portable midi guitar. Good for a beginner as it shows which notes are being played and helps with learning. Some nice synth sounds also built into the app. Works with GarageBand. It works well for some types of playing : arpeggios (eg Scarborough Fair) or rock chords, but does not work well for more rhythmic playing, high speed solos or lots of bar chords (though there is some bar chord support). The system settings do need to be tweaked to your style e.g. string sensitivity. I think it will become more playable with further software upgrades, as it is quite a new product.
