Excellent multi car OBD2 reader
Owning a Chevrolet, Porsche and Toyota I was looking for something that could work with all three. I wanted to perform routine maintenance like reseting service lights and read codes for occasional repairs. While doing research I stumbled on the iCarsoft CR Pro and decided to take a chance. Glad I did. Have been able to read Engine, Drivetrain and Body status with no problems. ABS, active suspension, steering wheel sensors, door locks, transmission sensors, HVAC temp sensors pretty much anything I tried to find I could not only read but check live data on and reset. Capture of codes is simple too. Data can be easily saved to the microSD card for reference later. Really fantastic tool for the money. Lookup for codes is pretty accurate considering the variety of cars I have. Overall I am really pleased with the unit. One thing surprised me, the tool does not have a battery. Most readers have a small 9v or a few AA batteries that power them. This one uses an external power source via USB cable. That means you connect the OBD cable to the vehicle and then connect a mini-USB cable to the tool then plug that in somewhere to provide power. In the case of my Toyota there was no USB power port to connect to. You can power from a 12V lighter port with an adapter or use a portable USB battery. I decided to use a portable battery pack and have no problems with it.

Great value, easy to update & use
Right out of the box, the unit was easy to use. Since it did identify the SRS issue on my 2015 Benz GL550 after removing & reinstalling the passenger seat, it would not reset the light. I updated the unit, which was a breeze, and still no luck. The item was easy to return and I purchased the same unit, just specifically for the Benz and it worked like a dream. Great unit but if they have a specially designated unit for your vehicle brand... you may want to consider that first...just my $0.02.

Junk
Couldn't read codes from the ECM on a Jaguar. Very intermittent behavior. My 20 year old crappy OBDII reader is more useful. Same on an NB Miata. When it could read the channels, many temps were expressed in volts (meaning they didn't bother to create a formula to convert them). Some were shown in impossible values, etc. This car ran fine. Reader is junk. Reported the issues to iCarSoft "US Support". lol! All emails came in the middle of the night ET. So clearly from China. They kept asking for more detail, videos, pics, logs, until I gave them everything they asked for and more. Then they stopped responding. They were clearly stalling to see if I'd give up and not send them something. Stay away. Frustrating unsupported junk.

Reliable Diagnostic Tool – Works Well but Could Offer More Features
This is a decent and reliable diagnostic unit that performs its core functions well. I’ve used it a few times now, and it has been accurate and helpful for vehicle diagnostics. Here are a few positive points: Provides accurate and reliable diagnostic readings Easy to navigate interface for basic functions Solid build quality that feels durable Works across multiple vehicle systems effectively Suggestion for improvement: For the price, there are competing tools that offer more advanced features and expanded functionality Overall, it’s a solid tool that gets the job done, but buyers looking for more features may want to compare alternatives before purchasing.

Great Scanner for Auto Work
I don't write reviews often, unless something is really awful or really great. Let me explain where I am coming from in writing this review: I have owned a number of OBD scanners at different price points. I do all my own auto work and have rebuilt several wrecked vehicles just for fun - so I am not a novice or just an oil change DIY guy. I have owned very basic OBD scanners, specific scanners, and more "comprehensive scanners" all before buying this CR Pro. I previously bought an iCarSoft i980 which is specific to Mercedes ONLY. With my latest project vehicle which is also a Mercedes, it was newer and had more modules that the i980 couldn't communicate with. The CR Pro was a prime purchase with free returns so I figured I'd try it. So I have the i980 pocket scanner for Mercedes Benz only, a top end Zurich scanner that does OBD + OEM codes, SRS, ABS, etc, and now the CR Pro. The CR Pro is fantastic. They make different versions of this scanner and some are limited to how many makes it will scan, if you go with the CR Pro it will do all makes and all models. The European OEM code scanning functionality is amazing. Compared to my next best scanner which gave me 2 codes, the CR Pro ran through all 42 modules on my latest Mercedes project and gave me exact detail about the codes it was pulling. It also gives you live data feed and live input on the different modules. Before purchasing this, I read some negative reviews. Some even saying that this doesn't do anything a $15 scanner doesn't do. Those people are flat out wrong and clearly are not using this correctly. This has great functionality and works surprisingly well. Is this a true, professional level scanner? No. But it's also well under the $1,000+ price point that comes with professional scanners. I would even bet that a number of small independent shops run a scanner like this - in fact I know for sure that this more functionality and capability than the scanner that a couple of my local indy shops use - all for under $300! You can definitely buy a cheaper scanner and it may work well for you, but if you own a European car or more than one car and like to DIY - I would make the investment in this scanner, it's fantastic and I wish I had bought it sooner/before I bought the other 2 scanners I own!

Shipped w/micro sd DOA
If your unit won't run or upgrade it's because the SD is toast. It will try to upgrade if you put in the sn and uid but these fields should populate automatically. I had a 2gb card and I was able to get everything but the BMW software on there. The BMW file was 2gb by itself, by far the largest file. Works well with the 38 pin adapter on my clk430 w208. Had the provided card w/software worked then 5 stars would certainly have been warranted. Reading the reviews it seems that quite a few of these are returned for want of a decent sd card. Replacement 32gb pny was purchased at Walmart for 7.88 so figure that cost into the price of the unit. And by the way downloading the complete software package takes a loooong time.

Good Value
After changing out the steering spider coupling in a Hyundai, we started to get traction control and steering warning lights. Research indicated that the steering needed to be calibrated by the dealer with their computer. The local dealer wanted hundreds to do this job, so we checked on a local non-dealer repair shop and they said they would look at it for free. So we took it there and their "expert" said that the steering angle sensor was messed up and they needed to replace it in order to calibrate the steering, all for $2300! I knew this wasn't right so I did more research to find some kind of Scan Tool to calibrate the steering and came upon this. Fingers crossed and I purchased it. When I hooked it up to the car and went through the menus which were easy to navigate, I noticed that the Vin Code did not match the my model year of my car. So when I selected the car in the tool, I went with the VIN code and not the listed years. This worked great. The steering calibration process took seconds and all the fault lights went away and the steering works great again. So far this is my only experience with the tool, but it was worth it just for that.

Excellent Querying Capabilities, Coverage Across Models
First off - unit is solidly built. I left the screen film on just in case. OBD-Serial cable is solid molded. Screen is bright and easy to read. Buttons are big, solid and have audible click feedback. Purchased due to an intermittent non-start issue in a 2008 MB. First step was to assure updated model info. Easily connects via free iCarSoft app to the iCarSoft website via USB to PC and allows you to select what car models you what to update. Only takes a few minutes for all models with large data files direct to the unit - no storage issues. Once plugged into OBD port, one button select for diagnostics, select your make/model and hit auto scan - unit goes through every system it can access. MB had almost 40 subsystems that it scanned and collected info on. Immediately identified the subsystem problem and pinpointed a steering lock mechanism failure. Replaced the lock mechanism and unit was able to clear error. Saved the cost of the unit on this repair alone. Initial scan also found several other errors that weren't noticeable (like a failed passenger foot A/C fan - ended up just being an unplugged connector under the dash but would have never known otherwise). Another example - did an oil change and next day threw an engine light. Scanner immediately pinpointed an overly rich air flow error in all sensor banks. Brought me right to the air intakes which were not correctly seated. Reseated the intakes and cleared the error on first drive. Odd circumstance but would have been searching without the targeted finding of the scanner. Using this unit on 4 different cars ranging from 2008 MB to 2019 Ram 1500. All models natively supported and so many subsystems visible to it. Also acts as a straight OBD2 scanner, live data monitor and has ability to do resets/cals of certain systems like ABS, EPB, etc. Nice product, exceeded expectations. Happy customer.

Works really well with our 2015 Mercedes
While our 2013 Volvo V50 isn't fully covered (but almost), it detected and erased all EGR-related problems with our 2015 Mercedes until now. Had 2 other tools before, didn't go so deep.

Makes service easier for a DIY:er
Bought it in order for changing brake discs on a VAG with electronic parking brake. Works as expected and now I can also check for errors and clear them myself. Note: you need to turn on the ignition in order for the auto discovering of the car. Also make sure that battery on car is healthy or connect a charger so the voltage doesn't drop when e.g. pulling back the motors for the EPB.
