Love this little light!
Got it for my husband for Christmas and he is in love with it. He immediately started using it for everything! It’s bright and convenient.

Works great but feels cheap.
Works great. Not hard to use. Feels flimsy for the money it costs.

Nitecore TUP 1000 hits the sweet spot!
I have been a Nightcore fan for a few years now and have been consistently purchasing more of their products. Nitecore flashlights are of the highest quality and power. All of my Nitecore flashlights function as intended. Overall I feel the TUP 1000 hits the sweet spot in value and performance. 1000 lumens on the end of a keychain is a lot of light in such a featherweight, small, tight, quality package make this light a truly excellent design. The large screen make all the functions clear and easy to access. I have a Nitecore TINI 380, which is also an excellent light with similar functionality, however, lacks the exceptional screen and the raw power of the TUP 1000. For me, the screen makes the functionality of this light many times more enjoyable to use. Right now the Nitecore TUP1000 is my favorite and most useful light that I own. Once again, I am completely satisfied and impressed with this Nitecore purchase.

It goes where I go.
Things I like:-This flashlight clips perfectly in the little watch pocket on the right side of my jeans (above the front pocket.)-It is a great companion to my penlight that I keep in my shirt pocket that I use when I need just a quick shot of a little bit of light.-Seems to be pretty rugged - it is solidly built.- For its size, it puts out an incredible amount of light in the turbo setting.-I love the fact this is rechargable.-I like being able to see how much illumination time I have at each brightness level.Things I'm not crazy about:-This is not a whip-it-out and light flashlight if you want to avoid accidentally turning it on in your pocket. My penlight takes about 1 second to deploy. This light takes me a few seconds to unlock it and get it to the brightness level I want. If you keep it in your pants pocket, you will want to lock the buttons so it will not turn itself on accidentally. The lock feature takes a few seconds to turn off so you can use the light. The user interface is a bit clunky for me, but I haven't had the light very long, so I admit I am still getting used to it. You can turn off the locking feature.-It seems to drain power even when you don't use it. In three weeks since I charged it and with only about 30 seconds of use at 200 lumens level I've lost about 30% of the charge. Maybe that's normal for a rechargeable flashlight.Overall, I really like this light and would give it 4-1/2 stars if I could.

Great light for many uses
I purchased this light for backpacking, and camping, but have been using it for morning walks before sunrise. Set at 65, it gives plenty of light, and will last for 9+ hours without a charge.Great light.

Disappointed on a number of fronts
I'm a big fan of Nitecore and have a number of their flashlights. So I was very excited to purchase this little TUP 1000 lumen light to use around the house or in my truck. The first problem I ran into is that I purchased Black (which costs more), but Amazon sent me a Grey one. Awesome. Interestingly, the outside sealed package said it was a Black one, but inside it was clearly the lower cost Grey model. Perhaps someone at Nitecore isn't paying attention to what they are doing. So, now I've got to do yet another Amazon return and track down UPS. Fun, fun.In the few minutes I did have the light out of the box, I was not real impressed. Initial impression is that , surprisingly for Nitecore, it feels quite cheap and light weight. The control buttons feel like something on a $2 Chinese toy; they are just godawful. Given the high cost and how nice all my other Nitecore products are, I was expecting something that felt well made and more like holding a little tank in my hand. Something I could use, if needed, in a fight to beat someone's face in with. But no such luck. Nope.. it just feels like something more out of a gum-ball machine or something. For almost $70 with tax, I was really shocked at how cheap it felt. The little user interface screen is pretty cool though, I have to admit. The light has several power modes. I'm sure you can watch YouTube to see how all that works. The problem is, however, that the super bright turbo mode (i.e. 1000 lumens) requires you to constantly hold down the button. That's sort of a pain. It would be nice if there was some way to set that to just stay on. I mean, I get it... I might melt the light or something (or the battery might drain in record time) - but hey, I like to live on the edge sometimes, so why not allow me to lock down 1000 lumens of reckless flashlight behavior? No such luck. The other modes can be set anytime though. You can dial through 1 lumen clear up to 200 lumens. 200 lumens is "okay", but this is clearly more of a flashlight to help you find your way to the bathroom at night than anything else. I personally wouldn't want to take it camping or anything. It just feels so cheaply made that I would be afraid that dropping it on the trail might render it non-functional. I wouldn't really trust it the way I do other flashlights I own (even the cheap $10 and $20 aluminum ones seem more rugged). It shows only an IP54 rating, which is pretty weak. That means - for your nearly $70 - you don't even get waterproof buttons. Just a flashlight that can withstand a little water splashed on it now and then. So, yeah, it's cool as maybe a pocket flashlight. Or if you have an 80 year old father who just wants a tiny light to keep next to his bed, in order to help him get to the bathroom. But as far as serious use, I think Nitecore has struck out with this light. Really, for the price, I think the light should have water proof rubber type buttons and feel a little more substantial. The other thing that is super annoying is that you can only go up to 200 lumens basically. The next jump is clear to 1000 lumens (but you must hold the button down constantly). This feels like a serious design short-coming in my opinion. It reminds me of Dish Network and their horrible fast forward modes, where you can either go normal speed or 15X or something nuts like 60X or 300X. But if you just want to skim through your program at 3 or 5 times normal, no such luck. What this little flashlight really needs - besides a button upgrade - is a mode where you get something like 400 or 500 lumens also. They rate the light at 15 minutes for 1000 lumen and 3 hours for 200 lumen. So why in the world didn't the person who designed this say to themselves, "You know what would be awesome? 400 lumens for 1.5 hours!" For all intents and purposes, the 1000 lumen mode on this is nearly useless. For one, I don't want my flash light dead in 15 minutes and for 2, I don't want to have to hold their horribly cheap button down for the whole time. Just give me 350 or 400 lumens and let's all get back to work already. So yeah, I hate to give my favorite flashlight company a 1 star rating, but this little TUP light is largely an abject failure if you ask me.

Impressive, but limited
I'm impressed with how much brightness and battery power they squeezed into this baby. The LED info screen is handy. I have two things I don't like though....1. It doesn't have a strobe function which I like to use when crossing dark streets and parking lots.2. The blocky shape is uncomfortable in my pocket and too bulky for my key ring.I mostly bought this because I'm a Nitecore fanboy and I will keep it in my collection rather than carry it.
