An Interesting Take On A Day of Teen Wolf
If you do not know already I am a huge Teen Wolf fan! More or less I am obsessed with all of the actors/actresses that are on Teen Wolf. I saw this book on sale online and figured why not. I have never really read fan fiction or media tie ins so I thought I would give it a shot! For those of you who have watched the show this book start the night of the parent teacher conference when there is a believed "mountain lion" running through the parking lot. The book lays out the story of events that basically take place within a day time span. It also contains flashbacks from years earlier and such. Although this is written based off the tv show there are many differences and loads of information that is presented that contradicts the television show or just never explained. So this is definitely a book to give another idea of what could have happened with a flushed out storyline for a single day making/explaining more than the tv show does (which is why I would consider it fan fiction).I did not know what to expect going into the book, but I did find it interesting. It is not exactly like the show, but laid out a story with some great ideas of how everything fell together and some great explanations of how some events or issues happened/could happen since the show is all about those plot holes. It was interesting to see what someone else put together and their take on this one day in the Teen Wolf world. It definitely fit into the trashy/guilty read romance category. There was even some sexy times between the werewolves (as full out werewolves) which I found a little strange. Overall it was a quick read that was enjoyable to read, but had some flaws and is not for everyone!

Filled in some nifty backstory
I usually take a dim view of the "novels" that are written for television shows because they're usually written fast to try to earn a cheap buck for the studios. However, I'm happy to report that I really liked this one. (Which is good because I really enjoy watching Teen Wolf.)The novel takes place during the time period covered by the first season of Teen Wolf so you might want to reacquaint yourself with what happened in the first season before you read the book. Without going back and watching the episodes one at a time, I think this action takes places sometime in the middle of the season. It is an entirely new story (probably could have been an episode by itself) and not a rehash of an episode. The best part of the novel is that it fills in quite a bit of backstory on several of the characters, specifically Derek Hale. Turns out, Derek wasn't always Mr. Tall, Dark and Angsty but was actually more like Scott McCall. Derek's story is told in flashbacks throughout the book and considering you know how it all eventually turns out for him, it is pretty heartbreaking. The rest of the story is interesting as well. The story revolves around the crew (Scott, Allison, Derek and Stiles) trying to find Jackson who has gone missing and you find out quite a bit more about Jackson and his background. You develop a different point of view on the Jackson character which makes watching (or re-watching) the episodes in season 2 more interesting. If you've watched Season 2 about the development of the Kanima, it lends a new dimension to that as well. This book came out around the time Season 2 was just ending and there are some things in the book that get referenced in Season 2. However, it isn't necessary to have watched the second season to enjoy this book. It is pretty helpful to watch season 1, though, because the book doesn't explain the origin of anyone or who the characters are - it just jumps right into the action.

Awful story
Huge Teen Wolf fan here and I knew this was going to be an awful read going into it, but just had to anyway. I was not disappointed in how bad it is. Most fanfiction has a better developed writing style and I can't even begin to articulate just how bad the plot in this is. And for the record, there's no way this is canon. No possible way. Parts of it go directly against what has been stated in the show or against what Jeff Davis has said during panels. It's a pretty quick read if you're curious anyway.

A must for any Teen Wolf fan...
For the teenage Daughter who is a MASSIVE Teen Wolf fan, she was very happy to receive it and for once Mum was "cool" as she didn't even know it existed!

Similar but slightly different
I love the fact that it's similar to the TV series. It's easy to link the two together. But there are slight changes from the TV series which I love because you can't always tell what's going to happen next so you can't stop reading.

Fantastic
Definitely worth a read if you've seen the series as helps explain a bit more about the relationship of hate between Derek and Kate Argentina
